Bush administration chose to go to war
Re: "If Bush lied about Iraq, so did others" (letters, Aug. 18).
Letter writer Joyce Sorenson uses the same old inane argument to make her case as does Condoleezza Rice. I would remind Miss Sorenson that Bill and Hillary Clinton, Jacques Chirac, German intelligence, Tom Daschle, Bob Graham, Joe Lieberman, Iranian intelligence, Dick Gephardt, John Edwards, Al Gore, Ted Kennedy and Madeline Albright did not make the decision to go to war. It was incumbent upon this administration to ensure that the intelligence was viable, credible and correct.
What foreign policy amateur would take a country to war based on 8-year-old intelligence that was not vetted and verified?
