What constitutes a "pothole"?

Does anyone here think that a pothole is " 8 by 12 feet wide and four inches deep"?

Would not the term "pothole" indicate that the hole would be approximately the size of a "pot"?

Staff Sgt. Brian Lee Morris, 38, was killed in a truck accident Sunday at 11:15 p.m. Michigan time.

Morris was hauling jet fuel on a two-day mission when the truck hit a pothole 8 by 12 feet wide and four inches deep. The truck veered into a ditch and pinned Morris inside.

To me, this is more than a "pothole" - this is infrastructure completely destroyed.

1. That is NOT a pothole....it's a small crater.

Or a foundation for a room.

NOT a Pothole.

"Pothole" is an easy way to dodge the obvious...we BOMBED something on that road.
