1. You should just call them on that

It's a lazy ass techinque when somebody is pointing out flaws in your plans (and one that get's used around her occasionally). Rather than defend your plan, you call on them to create a plan of their own. Then you get to go on the offensive.

And I've heard it more than once, even here at DU. I pointed folks to the 2004 Democratic party platform, and strangely, I didn't get any response after that. I don't know what conclusion to draw from that.
