Question about Pat Robertson.
Robertson has said many, many hateful things over the years, including praying for another vacancy on the Supreme Court last week. Why did this comment make its way to the tabloid (cable) news?

2. Because he didnt use vague phrasing.
He didnt technically pray for anyones death, just a vacancy.

This time he out and out said we should assassinate someone.

3. Because he's never advocated the assassination...
of a democratically elected world leader before?

Supreme Court vacancies can come by way of retirement, after all.

4. Because "praying for another vacancy on the court"
could be construed as "asking god to change the heart of a Justice to retire".

It isn't a request for death or disease blatantly.

This comment was ablatant call for assassination.

5. because he has been emboldened by all the lies and
abuses, and evil that 'America' has gotten away with so far.
And he isn't afraid to reveal himself.

6. Interestingly, the Venezuelans are attributing it to the Right Wing
of the US...good that they don't think it's a US feeling.

“This man cannot be a true Christian. He’s a fascist,” added Venezuelan legislator Desire Santos Amaral. “This is part of the policies of aggression from the right wing in the North against our revolution.”

Santos said she thinks U.S.-Venezuelan relations could still improve but comments by “charlatans and fascists” like Robertson only get in the way.

The State Department distanced itself from Robertson’s comments. “We do not share his view, and his comments are inappropriate,” spokesman Sean McCormack said.

8. Can't Robertson be taken before the World Court
isn't it against international law to threaten a head of state?

9. He can be tried in a number of countries
like Venezuela (by coincidence) Spain, and Great Britain that allow for charges to be brought against persons for crimes committed outside their borders. This means that he cannot travel to these countries, or risk arrest.
