Poll question: Number 'W'astikas and B/C bumper stickers in your area?
Have noticed a DRAMATIC decline in the W and B/C bumper stickers around Allegheny/Butler counties (burbs of Pittsburgh) and wondered about other areas. Even funnier, I swear people are ADDING K/E and anti-W stickers every day.

The poll is broken into red and blue to see if this is just a blue area phenomenon or is widespread.

In your area, do you notice a decrease or no change in the number of W or B/C stickers?

1. Noticing a large drop off of 'support the troops' magnets here as
well. I'd swear that it was about 2 out of every 3 SUVs and trucks with them on just a couple of months ago.

7. There were not a large amount in metro Detroit to begin with ...
I'm not even sure "our" RW'ingers were ever very happy with the Chimp ... if I'm not mistaken McCain won in the primaries in 1999 (?)

8. in the bluest of blue states - I still
see the same number of W stickers that I have - but it appears that no one put them on until AFTER the election ! Then they all jumped on the bandwagon.

Most of them however come from a neighbor to the north who is very red! They like our jobs down here though.

11. i actually saw one that was covered with a peace sign...
on the back of an suv with the usual stickers arounfd here... frat letters, ducks unlimited, an earnhart "3", etc, and a peace sign. i got closer and could see a "W" sticker covered up by the peace sticker (both white with black). i thought it'd been tagged, but then i saw a "free yourself from mental slavery..." on the bumper. either some liberal hippie bought a frat boy's SUV (it was new looking, though), or somebody had buyer's remorse.

23. Since it is summer I've been trying to get in front of them
and putting a thumbs down out the window.

Got a new bumper sticker red magnet that says "W'04 Voters Support the War-Enlist". I gotta put a couple of new stickers on magnets like Draft Bush Voters and one I ordered yesterday that is a graph of gas prices during Bush I, Clinton, Bush II.

18. Too many stupid, stubborn people here in south Texas.
If they found W. humping goats and eating human babies, they'd look for a way to blame it on Clinton's penis and excuse their golden boy. They are just like the Simian Dauphin: they cannot admit to making mistakes.

I've not registered a decrease or increase. Effectively zero, or otherwise negligible.

22. Orlando, Orange County, FL
some of you might not know this but Orange County went Blue by about 800 votes in 04. We also have an embattled Dem mayor, Buddy Dyer. The hinterlands are about as red as it gets though, and these people still have their SUVs and Beamers buried under yellow ribbons and Wastickas.

28. yeah. integrity is important to (what one might call) a "redneck"
they are often very good judges of character. i have no quarrel with rednecks.

it's the uber-yuppy tax-break conservatives that are the true die-hards. and that's what we have here. their children aren't dying in any wars, and they are the beneficiaries of the current paradigm.

26. What's the lifespan of a bumper sticker (or ribbon magnets), anyways?
Edited on Tue Aug-23-05 07:37 PM by D__S
How long did the 9/11 flags last on peoples vehicles before they just rotted away?

Every now and then I see a ribbon magnet that is so faded and washed out
you can't tell what the original message was.

27. But this has been a sudden and dramatic decrease around here...
Within the past 6 weeks (RamboLiberal has noticed the same thing around here)

I was just wondering if others also noticed this rapid decrease in their areas.
