7. "Presidential wannabe Howard Dean"
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 10:46 PM by notmyprez
was how he was referred to in a voice-over advertising the show earlier tonight. I think they thought it was funny. I was not amused, nor would I have been if any of the Dem candidates was referred to as such. I'm not sure if it was a network or local voice-over.

edited for punctuation

14. Leno asked the audience how many
of them, when hearing the name Howard Dean, thought "Democratic Presidential candidate"? (clapping, cheering from the audience) Then he said, "How many of you hear the name Howard Dean and think of pure, pork sausage?" (loud clapping and cheering):eyes:

Leno's an asshole. But I admit I always laugh at the dumb headlines people send in. They are so stupid I can't help it.

39. Yes, he said he had this great old suit he got
at JC Penney for $125 and he wore it forever. He kept promising to get rid of it, but every time he would start to throw it out, it looked completely fine and unwrinkled and he couldn't do it. After a 20 hour flight home from Argentina, the suit looked rough and, on a whim, he tossed it into the washing machine. It came out great and he still has the suit to this day.

28. Hahaha...
...The $125 JCPenney Suit is just the common man connector story, I love it. I agree, he did WONDERFULLY tonight, relaxed, collected, even in the face of Leno subtly pushing that BS Dean-as-Incredible-Hulk-Candidate Repub line at him.

Later.

...he definitely needs to go the Clinton route and play a song or something on a TV show. Hell, maybe The Daily Show he can play "Jaspora," lol.

On the bats, Dean's at $14,767,746 at 11:30 CST!

Later.

she's boring, but the headlines are funny and the Dean interview is great. Then Lyle Lovett sings and that's it. It's definitely worth a watch.

33. He did a great job, had fun. Leno did a courteous interview.
Dean looked like he enjoyed it. He mentioned he had a lot of fans there in CA, sounded surprised. Said Catherine Zeta Jones was complimentary.

It was quite good.

40. Dean did great, IMHO. My father watched with me and he was impressed.
Dad is a Reagan Democrat who abhors Bush. He said Dean was different and he was impressed by his being a medical doctor.

As a side note, that joke about Clark's "time travel" observation was out of context and slanderous, IMHO. Clark folks need to send emails to Leno correcting him and his staff about the context of Clark's remark.

Really relaxed, and he said some pretty funny stuff, and some stuff I have not heard him say before, which is pretty good considering I have seen him speak in person 9 times and watch almost all of his TV appearances.

West Coasters, there's still time!
