2. Not necessarily her, but she could be, it's more

the principle of the thing and the people she has been in contact with in foreign countries. Like journalists, agents have contacts that remain secret. When enemies find out who has been talking, they will arrest them or kill them. An operative must not be breeched because it compromises secrets, contacts, and jeopardizes people's careers and lives. Other CIA analysts and active operatives (as well as those retired) are extremely upset about this.

3. Actually THAT is not even it

It is NOT that she IS in danger but she could be and so could be ANYONE who replaces her at whatever Consulate she worked at. So could ANYONE who cooperated with her and gave her information.

Given that she was a COUNTER TERRORISM expert, this means inforation that was CRITICAL to our security could be spoiled...thirty years worth...down the shitter in order to discredit a person who CROSSED the Bushies...not an intelligent trade off.

1. She may be in danger, but her network - the people she recruited in foreign and not necessarily friendly countries - is in real danger of being found and destroyed;

2. The administration wiped out a network dedicated to keeping WMDs from terrorists;

3. It was political revenge and/or rank incompetence;

4. It's a major felony to do this.

5. Threatens US National Security by 'outing' a CIA official

CIA operatives skill and job apparently, is to build relationships and get inside various systems or groups. It takes years for them to "infiltrate" and build relationships.

That is why it is a felony to pull something like this, because, like spying, it is like a dominoe theory in that it endangers and ultimately exposes our country to more potential acts of terrorism and problems overall.

And yes, her life is forever altered at this point.

6. She isn't in any more danger than you are, Carlos

Of course, every American is now at extreme risk of being attacked by terrorist WMDs since KArl Rove has tipped off every international terrorist in the world as to CIA WMD investigations over the past three decades, so yeah, you could say she's in danger.

7. Answers...

1) It is a definite felony under U. S. law to reveal the name of an intelligence operative.

2) Yes, she is in physical danger, and so are all of the foreign-born agents she recruited during 30 years of deep-cover service. Additionally, she managed a network of agents that focused on the shipments of any items that could be used in the manufacturing of WMDs. Depending on the status of that network, national security has been degraded significantly.
