Another slur against Cindy: "She went home to fight with her husband
over Casey's insurance money, not to attend to her mom:

it's a hard thing to be a democrat when we have cindy sheehan's on our side.she isn't even in crawford if Bush was going to talk to her again.i was told the only reason she went home was to fight over caseys insurance money with her husband.so what does that say about her.a real patriot she is

3. I Don't Think...
...the right-wingers are even trying to verify things anymore. Now they are just making things up. This may end up bringing about their downfall, because people don't like people who make things up all the time.

12. That is exactly what it is.
They are not addressing the issue of the war, the lies to get us into war, the shifting focus of the war at all.

Attacking the messenger is easier for both the attacker and the listener. Isn't it easier to understand divorce, money, greed, illness than the complicated, convoluted reasoning used to start Shock and Awe?

5. When they talk about Cindy's divorce, mention Newt Gingrich
The stupid war ruined Cindy's marriage.

Losing a child often stresses a marriage to the point of divorce.

6. I'm really blown away at how people are happily smearing this women..
it makes me wonder if there is more going on that her being against this war, it is by chance that it is because she is a woman and a seemingly strong minded one?

I'm a little bit down today because I have heard some not to kind remarks about Cindy and from those who despise this administration, do many of the male population still regard a woman as needing to be bound to home and the children instead of being out in the public eye?

Is there a secret inner thinking that alot of men have, that strong women are some kind of theat to their masculinity...

I seriously am a bit shocked, I thought we had come further than that, apparently, we still have some way to go...

I hope she does not give up or give in to this mindset where women should be seen and not heard..

And this is not just a southern mindest either..I heard it from some Yankees...blew me away..I would have understood if they had been Southerners.

10. Honey..... I hate to be the one to tell you but....
These bubbas down here in Texas can't handle women with brains
and a spine. gives them the shakes.....
If you ever "talk back" the get this glassy look in their eyes, and tuck tail and run off.
If Cindy was the Daddy of a dead soldier they would just call him a pussy.

13. I can vouch for that
That's the way it is here. Talk back to them and they'll initially challenge you with a smug, derisive statement questioning that you know anything about the subject at hand. Show them that you do and they back off so fast they create a mini-vortex. It's really quite fascinating. Infuriating, but fascinating. It works especially well for sports. For example, God forbid a woman knows anything about football. That blows their ears right off their heads.

I get to see that up close and personal quite often.

19. I am disturbed by the past couple of posts
Downing men is not the way to go. I have very strong female friends. We know football. We know politics. We know current events. Maybe you should look for men who actually have a brain. Don't down men in general. They can be as strong as we are.

24. Nobody's "downing" anybody
We're remarking on how many men are like that here in Texas. It's a fact. It's not whether one likes it or not. It just is. There are many who are different, but there are many who are just as we described. Ignoring the reality of that is nonsensical.

They attack anything with a D anywhere near it, particularly if the person in question has been anywhere near Michael Moore recently.

The bigger the threat, the louder the complaint. These guys must be terrified of Ms. Sheehan.

that's just rude. As a true Southerner, I really take exception to your remark. There are real men here. And really real women. "Yankee" does not guarantee anything. GWB was born in Connecticut. Please reconsider your bias.

Edit: Now I will tell you this. A couple of men I know have decided that foreign women are the way to go. My new daughter-in-law, who is from Finland, and a real beauty, was approached at random by a man who said he could tell she was really different from American women. Is that a bubba? I don't know. If shit needs kicking, you can count on me. And I taught her some of that too. Women of the World unite.

Those rightwingers are hideous. They would take the Virgin Mary herself and try and convince ya she was a strumpet if she were alive today and spouting her liberal baloney.

or at least Independant. I hear this all the time from AAR callers. They start out by saying, "I am a Democrat", or, "I listen to AAR AND right-wing talk radio all of the time". Then they start attacking the Democrats with right-wing talking points.

Thank god we have Randi, Sam, Janeane, and Malloy.

Pretty much uses the same talking points, too.

I think it's the work of no more than two people. Maybe just one.
