3. OPEC
Don't forget, Iraq was about to switch to the Euro, too, before the invasion.

That's not just a coincidence, IMHO...

7. IIRC,

Iran will create its own oil market (the bourse) in March '06, and it will be denominated in Euros. That's the real "why" of saber-rattling now against Iran. Remember, last week Iran and Venezuela stated that they are discussing using an oil embargo against "hegemonistic" countries. It wouldn't surprise me if Chavez times his move to the Euro in coordination with Iran.

6. how has it evolved...which seems clear after this "assassinate
stuff discussions tonight on cable tv...that it is now..or becoming quickly..an overt threat to the usa, for a country to consider or might no longer sell us their oil. Is a decision to not sell oil to the usa a reason now to go to war? Is that now reason enough to consider assissination of the leader of that country? And this is a country that is already a democratic country...with a popular elected president..so what is all this cable talk about Chavez as a "dictator"...he is not...he was elected...and whats this about how he ruined his countries economy? The economy is booming there? Dont these reporters even check this out before they report it as news?

8. Plan Oil Supply #1 (Invade Iraq)
has not worked out so well, so quick, let's put plan #2 (control Venezuela) into effect.

9. The US is still his biggest customer I believe. There were some stories
last week about Venezuela trying to increase exports to China. Perhaps when that is accomplished we could see this. It would be a blow to the dollar but the votes in Europe a few months (Thinking Holland)against the European Union slowed everybodies movement to the Euro I think.
