Unfortunately my van only gets 18 mpg. My sons Eagle Talon gets 27 wish I could switch him.

EPA rates it 61/66, I'm actually getting 69.5 on the odometer. Tracks mileage as well as miles driven and has two trip odometers so I can track tank mileage and trip mileage. My high score was 82.2 on my way to work.

52. I filled up right before the prices shot up
Which was a first for me. Usually I end up having to get gas just after the prices jack up. Now that I'm filling up every two and a half to three weeks, I can time the tank fills better.

I'm on my fifth tank of gas, this tank is in its infancy - two days old - the gas gauge hasn't moved off F yet.

33. I used to work 2 miles from home
but I got laid off and now have a 20 mile commute. Too far to bike and buses don't go there. Plus I'm in a carpool. If it's a short trip I bike or walk.

With the fuel consumption display standard equipment on an Insight showing mpg minute by minute, short trips really degrade mpg and you can see it happen. So my rule is No Short Trips. Even and escpecially in winter.

73. The map feature does look cool,
but it's mapquest and a family member for my navigation. The smart key is my favorite feature. I never have to take the key out of my purse. The second I touch the door handle the car reads the key tag sitting in the bottom of my purse and unlocks the door, and then I just push the start button. Neato. :)

34. I'm not really sure....
In April, 2003, I got a brand new Honda Civic LX. In the last two years and 4 months, I have barely 3,500 miles on it. I think the tank is about 9 gallons, and I have gotten about 325 miles between fill-ups.

I bought it because of a job prospect I was hoping to get (and didn't) that would have required commuting to work. My current job is about a mile from where I live, so I walk to and from work. Living where I do, I have the entire downtown retail core within a mile or two in one direction and a thriving neighborhood with grocery stores and restaurants in the other direction. So I don't drive very much

This is Phoenix in the summertime -- gotta have air. The 32 mpg includes running errands and a fair amount of highway driving. Once I can cut down on the air, it will climb to about 36 or so.

39. about 28 mpg
Not that great, but at least we don't use it a lot since I work from home and LD has a short commute.

I'm working on getting everything optimally tuned to see if we can bump that up a bit higher though. :) We can't really go smaller, we need the space, and going newer makes no sense money-wise so we'll stick with what we've got and do our best with it.

40. I walk to work and have put maybe 800 miles on my vehicle in 18 months.
So the 22/mpg doesn't mean that much to me.

Also Steph drives an Outback which gets around 25-27/mpg but she walks to class now so that's really a moot point as well.

That's about half city & half highway driving.

As the old "bucket of bolts" gets older, the mileage has gone up.

I have used synthetic oil since day one, and it has 95,000 mi.

Good mileage from a 3400 lb. car!

I drove to Columbus, OH a couple weeks ago and averaged 34.5 mpg on the highway.

Sorry, it's an Auto.

Said it before, say it again. Give me a 61 HP TDI (as used in the Lupo) in the Jetta Wagon and I'd be happy. Wouldn't have the kick like the current car, but would probably get 65+ mpg (the Lupo is rated at 74 / 94 mpg).

72. My Commercial Vehicle get about 6 mpg
on deisel-depending on the weight on the load and whether I need to idle for A/C or heat. My private car is a 2003 Toyota Echo-approx 35 MPG.

76. A whopping 8 mpg!
But I feel little shame because I work from home and drive my car ('68 Olds 442) literally about 5 miles a week, if that. I live in downtown Long Beach so I can walk to most things I need.

78. Yeah, style and power
at the expense of common sense. It can pass anything but a gas station. I love it!

80. My Buick Century
Gets 29-31 mpg in highway driving and 25-27 around town without A/C. A/C destroys the mpg so I only use it when I can't stand not to. Thankfully most of the driving I must do is within a 5 mile radius.

81. 16-18 around town and up to 25-26 on highway trips, sadly
The upside is this is a hand-me-down car from my inlaws--a 1992 Lexus with 70,000 miles on it when passed down and we've added another 60,000 since we got it in 1998. Good thing is we both only drive around 7 miles to work. I only fill up every two weeks or so!

Hubby wanted an SUV (ugh) but saw the light when I showed him the environmental stats. He drives a 2003 Passat which gets pretty good mileage. I've only driven it on trips and then it gets close to 30 mpg.

We really want a Prius, but can't afford another new car while still making payments on the Passat.

82. 35 MPG, 1997 Honda Civic
... and a telecommuter about 4 days a week (33 miles from job site). Planning on getting a recumbent tricycle as soon as I can afford it for the short trip stuff.

84. I get about 30mpg average, 2005 Chevy Cavalier
I just bought my son a 1994 Honda Civic for his first car and put a brand new motor in it. It gets close to 40mpg. It's a sweet little car.
