Look what MWO has from HARDBALL--RNC CHAIR -- WHOA
http://www.mediawhoresonline.com/

RNC CHAIR GILLESPIE:
BUSH WHITE HOUSE TREASON SCANDAL WORSE THAN WATERGATE

Hardball (MSNBC - 9/30/03):

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Don't you think it's more serious than Watergate, when you think about it?

RNC CHAIRMAN ED GILLESPIE: I think if the allegation is true, to reveal the identity of an undercover CIA operative -- it's abhorrent, and it should be a crime, and it is a crime.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: It'd be worse than Watergate, wouldn't it?

GILLESPIE: It's -- Yeah, I suppose in terms of the real world implications of it. It's not just politics.

1. Of course, it would be "worse than watergate"....someone could
get killed and it's treason. Watergate was a burglery and a Coverup!

2. Holy sh*t!
Well, that should pretty much shut all the other excuse-making repugs up real fast. If the Party Chair says it's a problem, it's a PROBLEM. This has been an amazing day. Fianlly, I think we have something that's not going to go away. And it's going to dog Bush for the next 13 months until he cracks.

4. Gillespie is changing his tune,
wasn't it just on Monday that he said this was no big deal?

I wonder what changed his mind? Maybe is was ex-CIA Larry Johnson(republican) on PBS saying this was outrageous.

5. What the hell?
Wasn't Gillespie on Crossfire today, accusing the Dems of playing politics? He changed his tune 180 degrees in less than a day?

7. I watched him say it too
It was actually quite funny - he was sort of cornered by Matthews and was clearly not on his game. Not a good outing for Mr. Gillespie to say the least.

For one brief shining moment Matthews seemed like a real reporter.
Then he laughed about Democrats playing politics.
"When aren't they"

WHORE!

Like our national security has been compromised and who the hell knows who has WMDs now because Plame was involved with that as well as probably most of her contacts. Sheeesh:eyes:

9. I think.......
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 11:46 PM by Oaf Of Office
Republicans are being absolutely blindsided by this(so am I). Gillespie was like a deer in the headlights. Democrats can now ask the Republican Party to own up to the concern for our security and the patriotism they've been patronizing us with for the past several years. It's time for them to prove their loyalty is to this country and their party is secondary. Things are happening so fast now and I would venture to guess, with Rove's name and picture all over the place today, and the 6 other reporters who will be coming into play, we may be treated to seeing the fulfillment of Amb. Wilson's dream...Karl Rove frog-marched in handcuffs. :D

10. Ed was laughing...
....like a madman. So was Mitch McConnell. They're freaking scared to death.

Too bad for Bush they didn't keep that nazi Racicot as RNC chair. He lied with impunity. Gillespie gives himself away.

12. What's Great Is ...
Edited on Wed Oct-01-03 12:04 AM by FrankBooth
... that is the best possible answer he could have given - while also being the most self-serving. Now, when the Shrub admin is disgraced in the next few months, and the Dems sweep in '04, the Repugs can use the quote to rally around Gillespie by saying "Remember when the leader of our party essentially said 'We discovered a traitor in our midst? ' It was that moment we knew we'd been betrayed."

The Republican party will have to beg for forgiveness. And all the while, Gillespie saves his job, and perhaps his party. Maybe I should email him with the suggestion.

17. I don't know what the fuss is.
The Republicans have been the party of treason for decades.

Why is this night different from all other nights?
