I just had an idea! For teachers, students, librarians, parents, activists, etc...
Let's get kids to start a National Childen's Poll of Public Opinion. Why wait for elections when there is so much at stake? Especially for our kids.
The National Children's Poll could serve several purposes. It could be a reliable measure of the public opinion from a population that has the most at stake in the future. It could also be an enriching, authentic cross-curricular educational experience. At Princeton University, many courses are now cross-disciplinary, so, it would be good practice for college!
This combination of online and community input ( libraries, suprmarkets, malls....) would assure a good sample because it would provide a check on the Internet results.
We'd need some math and computer teachers/students who are concerned about democracy to get it rolling. Any educators out here in these Internets looking for a good project for their kids? This could be a good one!
