Chris Matthews is a Dope

This morning I got a chance to see just how much of a dope Chris Matthews is or has become. He was on the Today Show discussing Cindy Sheenan and the Iraq War Anti-war movement. At one point he said that Democrats did not have to come out and be more anti-war in that they could wait until 2006 and say there is a need for new leadership. He even said they could do like Nixon in 1968. He was referring to Nixon just saying you need a change of leadership. I have two problems with this advice. One is this not what the Democrats did in 2000 and 2004 and it did not work for this at those times so why would it work in 2006 and 2008. Second, in my opinion you cannot win elections if you do not have an alternative to your opponent. Therefore the Democrats have to come out with an alternative to Bush.

Also during this segment Matthews tried to somewhat discredit Cindy Sheenan in that Matt claimed that she was really beating the President on the war issue. Matthews said not really because she is completely anti-war. Matthews than brought up that Sheenan had come on his show and said that even if her son had died in Afganistan she would be protesting the war. My problem with this is that he never said if he asked her why she would be agaisnt that war. Maybe she has a reason for being against that war.

and had come to the same conclusion. I stopped watching his show a long time ago due to his bias.

Most people who are against the Afghan War do.

Chris managed to dodge that land mine, unfortunately. How crazy would that have been?
