ABC Family "strongly rejects" Robertson's comments

ABC Family moved to distance itself Tuesday from controversial comments religious broadcaster Pat Robertson made on the channel. Robertson was live on the air hosting "The 700 Club" when he suggested that U.S. operatives assassinate Venezuela president Hugo Chavez. The Walt Disney Co.-owned cable channel is contractually required to air the program, which is produced by the Christian Broadcast Network. "ABC Family strongly rejects the views expressed by Pat Robertson in the Aug. 22 telecast of the program," the network said. "All comments about 'The 700 Club' should be directed to the Christian Broadcast Network through their toll-free number or via their Web site at www.cbn.com." (Andrew Wallenstein)

Mentioned in another thread, that if the lawyers didn't insert a clause that allow them to break the "must carry" clause for incidiary on-air behavior, they should fire the whole legal staff.

I am shocked and appalled that ABC airs the terroristic threats of Pat Robertson. Fatwas issued by a radical cleric are not "family friendly" programming. ABC should know better, but since you air his program and rabid rantings, you must support his worldview. Goodbye ABC.

15. Just tried to contact ABC Family

... and discovered The 666 ... ummm ... I mean "700" Club ... and discovered it isn't listed in their lists of programs on which to comment. Is this something new or did ABC Family pull it from their list of shows on the contact page?
