Relatives of slain Idahoans may meet with Bush

The invitation was a bit intimidating for Stevie Bitah — a chance to represent her family, and the father she lost in Iraq, in a meeting with President Bush.

The decision became easier, the 18-year-old said, when she realized her dad would want her to go. "I feel like everybody's counting on me," Bitah said. "I think I ought to take this chance and see what kind of person he is."

....

Bitah said she does not share Sheehan's strident anti-war view, but said she hopes American forces will return soon to spare other families the loss she endured.

"I don't think he intended to go over there and have people lose family members. He's doing it for specific reasons; he's doing it to protect our country," Bitah said of Bush. "My dad chose to go over there and that's something he was proud of, and our family was proud of him."

1. Another delusional relative
When ever you start a war you have already indicated your intention is to kill people, on both sides.

Until these people learn to deal with the real truth, not Bush truth,
the message will be limited.

2. This is driving me crazy.....
When I hear these statements I want someone to ask......

"I don't think he intended to go over there and have people lose family members.

He ordered your family member into WAR. People DIE in wars.

He's doing it for specific reasons;

What EXACTLY are those reasons. That is what Cindy is asking.

he's doing it to protect our country,"

How EXACTLY is it protecting our country. EXPLAIN it to me.

I don't want to minimize her suffering, but but until she answers those questions, her loss is in vain.

it always comes as a complete surprise...

4. So Cindy Sheehan wants to meet with him, but he invites
the choir to meet with him instead.

What a compassionate guy!

Poor Idahoans such nice people but who believe Republicans and Bush are true Americans who care about America.

is why Bush didn't stop there but is heading for Nampa for his last speech before he returns to Crawford. I lived in Idaho for five years and I know how you like your Republican pols. For what reason I don't know. Our congressional rep. fell into disgrace because after trashing Clinton relentlessly because of the Monica affair, it was revealed she too had an affair while married.

She, god bless her little pointy sheeted soul, eventually married her white supremist boyfriend and moved to Nevada because I guess the Idaho Republicans were too liberal for them.

BTW welcome to DU.

6. Someone! Please explain this to me!!!
How is it possible to rationalize the Iraq War with 'fighting them over there so we won't have to fight them here,' when at the very same time, we are told a terrorist strike of 9/11 proportions here in the US is imminent? Before the election, Cheney and Hastert (and other GOP operatives) made assertions to idolizing crowds that there would be a terrorist attack if Kerry is elected; within a month AFTER the election, the administration, GOP Congresspeople, analysts and talking heads ALL said that a terrorist attack within the US is no longer a question of 'if' but 'when'.

How can they keep promoting this 'fighting them over there' BS while simultaneously telling us they will strike and 'will be' here on our shores any day?!
