The US is building up in Paraguay and Peru has signed on to help.

Bolivia is in turmoil and they will make sure it doesnt fall into the hands of its own people.

Centuries from now, this fiasco in Iraq and whatever other countries the U.S. invades shortly (Iran?, Venezuela?) will be seen as an oil grab, plain and simple. The U.S. has a long history of shenanigans in South and Central America, but since the 1930s there haven't been the "invasions" but rather the creation of political instability to destabilize a government perceived to be anti-American, e.g. the overthrow of Arbenz in Guatemala and the coup against Allende. An outright invasion would be a return to U.S. foreign policy of the 19th century. I just did a research project on this subject and Latin Americans are much more knowledgeable than Americans about their history and relations with the U.S. I saw some graffiti on a wall in Caracas that said (translated) "If they kill Chavez, he will return as millions." Latin Americans know their history and they don't surrender to fascism as quickly as Americans do. Look at the unrest in Bolivia when the government tried (and is trying) to privatize the water and natural gas. Latin Americans take to the street and fight, not sit home and watch American Idol.

It's much easier to reach Bolivia from the Chile side or the Peruvian side in spite of the Andes, which aren't as high there. There are rails and roads crossing into Bolivia. There is a very sparse population so no one would stop them.(I know. I used to live in northern Chile 60 kilometeres from the border.) So I feel that Chile and Peru have probably put their feet down and refused passage.

My sister-in-law is Brazilian and she HATES America for this reason. Educated Latin Americans know their history and complain that the USA is constantly meddling in the affairs of other countries. To bad they know our history better than we do.

28. Planes coming over daily

I live in central Oregon and we'v have fighter jets that zoom over our valley once a week for years. All of a sudden, they're coming over every day, sometimes twice. There weren't this many even before the Iraq build-up. Something is going on.
