Bush Pledges to Stay Course in Iraq War

NAMPA, Idaho - President Bush, rebutting critics who are calling for the U.S. to pull out of Iraq, pledged that as long as he is president "we will stay, we will fight and we will win the war on terrorism."

....

"We'll complete our work in Afghanistan and Iran," Bush said. "An immediate withdrawal of our troops in Iraq, or the broader Middle East, as some have called for, would only embolden the terrorists and create a staging ground to launch more attacks against America and free nations."

8. It's a Freudian slip
The PNAC site makes it pretty clear that Iran is slated for conquest.

2. It's called "foreshadowing"
Bush said it, of that I have no doubt whatsoever. He carelessly let it fall out of his jaw, precisely because it's in the works. Literally, he doesn't care who knows or not.

more truth to it than a typo I am afraid ... "America will not wait to be Attacked again" .. another Bush quote today. Pre-emptive war monger.

9. why make war? We can kill all the terrists through environmental policy
yeah, so there will be a little "collateral damage". Us good souls will be raptured up by then.

I would use the :sarcasm: symbol here, but I truly think this is neocon policy

if these freaks really think they can bring on Armageddon and "the Rapture" by igniting a World War Three in the Middle East. But then I try to console myself, with the thought that they're only using religion for political gain. Hard to tell with these ass hats. Like trying to second guess Adolf Hitler, or Charles Manson.

15. A mad man on a mad course
He* reminds me of the school yard bully, the sadistic type. When he finds someone he can actually whip he* just keeps on and on until the poor kid finely gets tired of it and fights back ensuing his* defeat. Do we want him* dragging us down with him*. I think not.

18. I think that
they're going to find Iran a much tougher nut to crack than was Iraq. But these are the same ass holes who thought our troops would be welcomed to Iraq by cheering crowds and rose strewn streets, as I recall.

20. The scary part is they can't crack Iraq yet.
Unless something seriously happens he* will be marching our Troops into Iran. I'm afraid the decision is already made, now they just have to get the reasons in place.

16. Not the first Freudian slip I've come across
About a week ago me and my girlfriend were watching CNN. Some reporter mentioned "frequent bomb attacks in Iran", obviously meaning Iraq, but it was there. We both heard it and both said WHAT?! out loud at the same time.

Neo cons and repukes can't stand the French - "New Britain" would be more acceptable to them - the Euros will just have to go along with the neo con program. If'n they ain't fer us, they's against us -

24. AP reads "Iraq" in title; "Iran" in Bush quote
http://customwire.ap.org/dynamic/stories/B/BUSH?SITE=FLTAM&SECTION=POLITICS&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2005-08-24-14-08-47

"We'll complete our work in Afghanistan and Iran," Bush said. "An immediate withdrawal of our troops in Iraq, or the broader Middle East, as some have called for, would only embolden the terrorists and create a staging ground to launch more attacks against America and free nations."

(And *shock!!!* 9/11 invoked 2 paragragphs below that)

26. Not getting too much mileage
out of their 9/11 rhetoric any more. Which is scary. They might have to manufacture another "terrorist attack" to keep the public in the ring against "them A-rabs what hates us fer our freedoms".
