Sheepish "I Should Know This" Question Of The Day... |

Is Turkey now in the Eurpoean Union?
I couldn't find an easy answer on a quick google search -- some items from last October where the EU was meeting to discuss it, but nothing definite, so I thought I'd ask here.
I feel kind of embarassed not knowing -- I guess this tid-bit got removed from my brain in the post-election trauma.

Don't E.U. countries have to undergo a "trial period" before they're accepted? First they apply, then they go through a several year period of "trying to get along" and then they finally get accepted.
