Need help from the number crunchers out there....
...read recently that military service retention numbers are at an all time high. That is, people in the service are staying in once their tours are up.

Is stop-loss being counted here? I mean, are they treating the involuntary retentions statistically the same as the voluntary re-enlistments?

Does anyone know?

4. If the retention rate is up
it is solely because they are counting those who have been stop-lossed. Otherwise, I would be shocked if that statistic is true!

6. combined with stop-loss?
I bet that's it. No way people are staying in for a shooting war voluntarily. Oh yeah, and I suppose the 'stay with my buddies in my unit' thing is a strong factor.

7. They just called my cousin up from the Naval reserve
I can't believe their re-enlistment rate hasn't fallen.
