1. I am on disability with the hopes of going back to school
but seriously have you checked into communication as a career field? Or maybe advertising or psychology? Lots more to considering than just policy sci.

2. Journalism!
Because my job is kind of sporadic - when it's slow I can surf DU. Even when it's busy I'm in front of a computer often and keep it minimized and just pop it up and comment every now and again.

3. I don't actually spend as long as it appears on DU
I get a lot of short periods of "dead time" on my job.

I'm a computer programmer. Being in the know is not relevant.

7. What makes you think we're NOT employed?
Edited on Wed Aug-24-05 08:05 PM by im10ashus
Gainfully employed here full-time with lots of other things that take up my time. I always find the time to check in at DU and see what's happening. What do you "like" do and what brought you here?

12. No-I'm talking about me.
I came here because M$M won't cover the biggest story of all time. How a totally corrupt scoundrel has taken over our country. I spend a lot of time looking for dirt on Bush and the GOP.

14. If you have a lot of time on your hands, start a blog.
If you have a great handle on the political spectrum it could turn into a profitable career. As far as MSM not covering the scoundrel that took over our country? Um, they haven't been doing that for 5 years now. What makes you think they will start now? That's why I don't watch MSM.

Welcome to DU! :hi:

I write for fun not for profit. (Well, I hope for profits one day but for now hubby is the breadwinner.)

10. I'm self employed
In and out of the office all day long. DU is always up. I check it before I check my e-mail (although maybe after I check truthout and Cindy or the panda). I don't get television reception in my area and I refuse to get satellite. I get my news from the Internet, primarily DU's breaking news.

Being politically "in the know" may not have any marketability where I'm concerned... or where you are concerned, but it is essential for one's sanity at this particular time of our century.

21. I agree, but everyone beats a drum
and during the elections and campaigns, everyone wants to be a volunteer
political activist, to make the housekeeping you have to do something
to pay the bills, maybe a newsletter would work????

15. You might want to consider a campaign job
Local elections are coming up in many regions. Or, a job with your local Dem party.

If you can get on with one of your State US Reps or Senators, that would likely prove to be an interesting position. Of course, they all have offices in their home states.
