Saw Dean at Union Station earlier this eve...
Part of his L.A/SoCal day of events. First time I've heard him live... He's damn thoughtful, and I love how he ties in ideas that in other campaigns have been disparate: affirmative action and changing U.S. demographics, energy policy and defense, etc.

He seemed relaxed -- as the "Tonight Show" thread noted about his appearance there -- at ease, good humored. The atmosphere wasn't precisely electric -- he used many of the familiar tropes of his campaign (though I still like that line about "this time, the person who gets the most votes is going to the White House!")-- but there was an intensity, a palpable kind of hopefulness...

The was held in what used to be the main ticket-selling area of Union Station, and is now mostly used for private events. The space was packed. Dean stood on a platform rigged behind the ticket windows, while everyone stood shoulder-to-shoulder in the "lobby."

Good press turnout, too.

This guy would make a great nominee.

1. interesting
Thanks for posting it. I heard Dean interviewed on our local NPR today. Again, not electrifying but he sure does cut straight to the issues. It's his manner that I like. No-nonsense, cuts straight to the heart of the matter. You can tell there is a brain working and working hard, kind of like when Clinton was asked questions.

It's nice to hear a report. Just saw the Leno show. Dean did well. Lots of laughs.
