You know the site that tells how various celebrities, etc. voted.

Anybody know anything about Warren Farrell?

I'm just about to finish his 'The Myth of Male Power'. It is brilliant in many ways that don't even apply to sexual politics, which is the main subject of the book. That said, he seems pretty conservative at times (pretty liberal at others). He seems to have some libertarian ties (Nathaniel Branden).

I wish I could recommend this book to women, but a woman would have to have a pretty strong stomach to read this. I find it more than a little offputting myself. I really don't know what to think of this thing, but I found his idea of stage I and stage II families to be very applicable to politics. It explains in terms that actually make sense why the wingers are so pro-war for instance.

So what ya'll got on this guy?

9. Can you imagine if there were records found that said otherwise?
Every DUer sitting at their computer would hear a faint "pop"--the sound of every Freeper in the United States's head exploding.

I got his first name wrong (now corrected). My apologies.

The good news is that he donated a thousand to Kerry.

7. Basically (very basically)...
Stage I is about survival. Man works, woman is property. they don't have the luxury of wanting more. Stage II is modern and still only partially extant. The sexes are equals, soulmates, that come together based on all the things we hope for above and beyond just survival.

Most wingers are more stage I. Dems are closer to the ideal of Stage II. In Stage I man exist solely to protect woman, who is the very embodiment of the species. Without woman the species ceases to exist. At this point it gets way too complicated for me to detail here, you'll have to read it if you want more.

But...

It is the greatest of all sins in Stage I not to protect woman (society if you prefer). And by my way of thinking, that may just be what this war is about for the winger.

Sorry I can't do a better job with this.

6. Your VOTE is still private, theoretically. What these sites tell you is
Edited on Wed Aug-24-05 09:51 PM by Mayberry Machiavelli
CONTRIBUTIONS to political funds as required by federal election law.

Some people contribute to Dems and Repubs to "hedge their bets" so they can have lobbying clout with both sides, although they usually skew heavily towards one side so you can "bet" that's where they vote.

Many contribute but the amounts may be small enough so as not to trigger the FEC requirement for it to be reported to these databases. Less than 200 bucks or 250 bucks, even if done multiple times, seems not to trigger the database reporting.

It's not just famous writers--you can look up yourself and your neighbors, boss etc. with these.
