Move America Forward, an organization that supports the war on terror, is leading a "You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy" tour of military families from across the country. The tour will culminate in a rally at Crawford on Saturday "to support our troops AND their mission in Iraq." What nobody wants you to know, however, is that Move America Forward is being run by a Public Relations firm out of Sacramento, Calif., with strong ties to the GOP.
This web site, "
http://moveamericaforward.org", is actually an alias for "
http://moveamericaforward.com". A DNS check done in November 2003 revealed that Russo Marsh & Rogers, registrants of record for the domain in November 2003, is a political public relations firm with strong ties to the GOP. Sal Russo, a principle in Russo Marsh & Rogers, served as advisor for the "Recall Grey Davis" campaign in California. The website that was launched at that time pushed a campaign to deter theater owners from showing Michael Moore's film, "Fahrenheit 9-11". A list of theaters committed to showing the film was provided along with exhortations to call and demand that the film be dropped.
Move America Forward also ran a television ad promoting John R. Bolton's appointment as ambassador to the United Nations in April, 2005, according to the Washington Post.
The PR firm also touts it's own abilities with regard to political campaigning on this site :
When it comes to winning elections, few firms can match the success of Russo Marsh + Rogers, Inc.
The experience of RM+R’s staff is one of the greatest advantages you get when you recruit the Russo Marsh + Rogers team of political professionals and campaign experts.
The principals and associates at RM+R have been involved in more than 350 campaigns at the local, state, federal and international levels.
In addition to our experience in almost every state in the nation and in countries such as Nicaragua and the Ukraine, the expertise of RM+R’s staff extends to every aspect of campaign strategy and design.
