Bush's Obscene Tirades Rattle White House Aides
Whoa.

This article from Doug Thompson of Capitol Hill Blue:

LINK - http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/article_7267.shtml

While President George W. Bush travels around the country in a last-ditch effort to sell his Iraq war, White House aides scramble frantically behind the scenes to hide the dark mood of an increasingly angry leader who unleashes obscenity-filled outbursts at anyone who dares disagree with him.

“I’m not meeting with that goddamned bitch,” Bush screamed at aides who suggested he meet with Cindy Sheehan, the war-protesting mother whose son died in Iraq. “She can go to hell as far as I’m concerned!”

President Bush flashes the bird before going live at the White House.
Bush, administration aides confide, frequently explodes into tirades over those who protest the war, calling them “motherfucking traitors.” He reportedly was so upset over Veterans of Foreign Wars members who wore “bullshit protectors” over their ears during his speech to their annual convention that he told aides to “tell those VFW assholes that I’ll never speak to them again is they can’t keep their members under control.”

18. I believe Kerry had that chance during the debates many times
but failed to -or refused to -make the fucker pop.

Kerry was tossing him around like a lion plays with a ball. He should have crushed the bastard, make him break down and freak right there on stage.

51. Kerry won all three debates. What more did you want from the man?
Bush would limp off the stage after getting a sad, resigned embrace from his family.

Never in the history of the US has someone done as good as Kerry in the debates, and still lost the election.

One of those things that make you go hmmm...

Kerry didn't lose the 2004 election, period. He smoked bu$h in those debates. I taped them all, but my favorite is debate #1. I think it was the second debate where* charged the moderator.

Depends on who you ask. Just for the fact that he didn't hammer him when he could've means (to me at least) that he didn't win all three.

He had a good showing in all and won all IMO, but the M$M directed folks to think otherwise.

186. I disagree. Kerry was confident and in command, yes. But Bush
kept hammering him with "he voted for the war. How can he criticise me when he voted for it."

Of course, Kerry DIDN'T vote for the war, he voted to give the President authority to go to war to pressure Saddam Hussein.

But that's a fine point that is hard to make in a debate.

No less a debator than Gore called Bush shrewd and cagey. He proved to be all those things in the debate. And don't forget the listening device that fed him instructions.

127. I sent Helen Thomas a Q to ask Bush, but have not heard back .....
In short, would Bush and all his fellow elected and appointed officials pledge they would not profit from the war in Iraq (which is being waged to bring freedom and democracy) through their investments with companies(ie. Halliburton) and individuals with government contracts to secure and rebuild Iraq, by paying the profit amount into the Public Treasury to help offset the costs of the war?

Can you imagine Bush swearing off profits from this war?

Nope, me either.

But putting the Question out there and watching his response would show the world volumes.

From the article:
“Who gives a flying fuck what the polls say,” he screamed at a recent strategy meeting. “I’m the President and I’ll do whatever I goddamned please. They don’t know shit.”

Bush, whiles setting up for a photo op for signing the recent CAFTA bill, flipped an extended middle finger at the camera before going live. Aides say the President often “flips the bird” to show his displeasure and tells aides who disagree with him to “go to hell” or to “go fuck yourself.”
(snip/...)

30. Nope
Thompson's long been publishing these "insider exposes" without any secondary corroboration ever surfacing. He got caught in a big whopper a couple of years ago, cheesed off a lot of folks who used him as a source (including Truthout, if I remember right). He blamed it on a con artist who supposedly had been scamming him for twenty years. And what did he do then? Combed his site for articles referencing this character and deleted them all.

President Bush's links to Enron were back in the spotlight yesterday following the indictment of former chairman Ken Lay on 11 criminal charges.

The White House found itself on the defensive as it sought to play down the friendship between Mr Bush and his biggest donor.

Mr Bush walked away from a media briefing, refusing to answer questions about Mr Lay, a close adviser dubbed "Kenny Boy" by the president.

Was it Clarke who reported that Bush came in when he was talking with Condie Rice and said some outrageous over the top thing about how he was going to kill Saddam - maybe in 2002? (Help DUers with a link?)

And doesnt't the WH Press corp get trounced if they don't act in unison as they did with the Rove questioning last month? Individuals are still kicked out from time to time for asking the wrong question.

He's pissed, I have no doubts. Those people aren't simply grassrooters, they are paid GOPers, just like we saw during the Gore recount brouhaha and his campaign/public speaking events. His audiences are handpicked and a LOT of stagecraft goes into his public appearances. He is very insulated.

Furthemore, the man is nuts. He's a control freak who throws temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way. We see evidence of this in how the Repuke party is now, more than ever, brown shirt locksteppers.

46. You're right - this is irresponsible journalism and we shouldn't quote it
Everyone knows this picture is from when he was Governor.

He may very well be flipping the bird as President every time before the red light comes on, but the article clearly suggests (read the caption) that the photo is from his Presidency, and it's not.

insane_cratic_gal got it right.

Everyone else read this: Look, everyone knows Bush lied when he says he wasn't given special treatment during Vietnam, but those fake memos negated EVERYTHING, and turned everything around. Everyone forgot about the STORY and focused on the REPORTING.

This is no different. As much as the story mis-labels this picture, so must we discount the rest of its contents until it can be clearly corroborated.

I believe EVERY SINGLE WORD of the story and it comes as NO surprise, but SORRY, this mis-leading caption kills the *whole* story....

The article does NOT mislead people in anyway, and it's simply a mistake. The info in the article has been reported before from other sources, including Bush's own mother.. she said that he was tossed off golf courses because of his vile temper, foul mouth, and throwing and breaking of golf clubs.

143. The caption has been changed.
The original caption said in clear words that the picture above was a picture of the President flipping the bird. It has since been changed.

We have to be aware of "compromised" sources being used in anti-Bush reports, because, just like "Rather-Gate" they can be turned around to discount the main story, and turn into a focus on US.

Don't put it past them. Bush got out of serving and then lied about the special treatment he got, but in the end it was Dan Rather who lost his job.

79. That video of him as Governor of Texas
flipping off the camera is one of the few things that make this whole report somewhat credible to me. That look in his eyes suggests a personality who would do and say all those things.

BUT, capitolhillblue has reported this kind o thing before. About a year ago, before the elections, Bush was said to be positively Final Days Nixonian in his behavior, but that was never confirmed publicly either. Basically I think the specifics are probably BS, but the substance of it is probably true.

A little short on details, dates and names of the "sources", but understandable in this Bush world!

To think that America is being ruled by a "madman", not at all far from the truth, even without these exclusive insider visions.

I essentially believe the article is truthful, and that Bush is a very dangerous person to have running the most powerful nation ever on this planet. And we are supposed to sit around waiting for another 3 years?
How can we impeach the madman for mental health reasons, his and our own?

They still think Hillery is lesbian and that the Clintons "murdered" Vince Foster...Check out their archives.

While I wish this story were true, it needs to come froma more reliable source...

on edit:

see this story as a sample from 2003..

http://www.capitolhillblue.com/cgi-bin/artman/exec/view.cgi?archive=13&num=1452
Clearly, divorce is one of the decisions Clinton must make if she decides to run for President in 2004. Her husband’s womanizing continues and tabloids have linked him to a long string of new lovers, including actress Demi Moore.

“Clinton is more of a whorehound now than when he was in the Oval Office,” says a New York City police officer who has worked guard detail on the former President. “The guy must be taking Viagra with all the tail he’s getting.”

Even some of the city’s high-priced call girls have told New York vice cops they have been servicing the former President.

“Some of them are just bragging and blowing smoke,” one vice officer told Capitol Hill Blue, “but I’ve known some of these girls a long time and I believe one or two of them. From all the stories I’ve been hearing, it’s possible.”

Capitol Hill Blue has also learned that Clinton’s Secret Service team has a higher-than-normal turnover rate as agents asked to be transferred away from the former President, even if the transfer means a lower-profile post.

“The agents don’t respect him,” says one retired Secret Service agent. “Can you blame them?”

55. Orwell wrote fiction too
Turned out he was right about some things.

I don't trust the source on this but at the same time I don't doubt Bush** has very similar episodes, if not exactly as reported. I can't forget the look on his face when he came out (late) for that press conference at the ranch a few weeks ago. His expression, voice and demeanor said he'd just given somebody hell off-stage and he was still fuming about it.

My gut instinct with Bush** has been the same from the start and so far he's lived up to it: he is not in his right mind. He is an unreasonable person who will not hear other opinions and he has no qualms about resorting to violence (verbal, mental, emotional, perhaps even physical) to get what he wants. What's most important to him is the validation that comes with being right and feeling the approval of others. Having those needs stymied is probably where his fondness for alcohol originated. I'm sure the rising dissent and disapproval are driving him down into his own personal hell.

Sweet. :)

61. Yep. From DAY ONE
An account from Ron Suskind, who wrote Paul O'Neill's memoirs of his time at the White House:
"It was at the Madison hotel. It's Bush's first full day in Washington as president-elect, December 18, 2000. O'Neill sits with Cheney and Bush. They have cheeseburgers ordered in advance. That's the way it works...

"O'Neill's got a three-page handwritten list of the good reasons why he should not be the Treasury secretary, things that the president ought to think about...

"O'Neill believes global warming is a real, important issue. Some people might not agree with him on that. O'Neill had supported Bush's father's tax increase. A lot of people might have a problem with that. He recommended at one point a gasoline tax to reduce consumption and have money left over for the environment. These were all things that could cause trouble. And O'Neill likes to speak his mind. He wanted Bush and Cheney to know that. He comes to his own conclusions, and it might be hard for him to be just another bird in the nest.

"Meanwhile, the cheeseburgers haven't arrived, so Bush, as O'Neill tells it, kind of snaps up from the conversation and says, 'Where are the cheeseburgers?' Andy Card, the new chief of staff, is summoned, and he says to Card, 'You're the chief of staff. You think you're up to getting some cheeseburgers?' You know, not friendly. Card all but runs out of the room..."

Never seen so many Bush defenders on one thread. This is not a 9-11 conspiracy theory. It's easy to believe because Bush has a lifelong history of blowing up, swearing and acting crazy. It's entirely possible that a few of Bush's staff are making a couple bucks on the side with this insider information.

This source posts an article about a deranged Bush every few months. They're not a reliable source. Posters here are criticizing the source, not defending the subject.

Bush is a Caligula bordering on insanity. The issue shouldn't be about the messenger...but about the message that is more than likely true given Bush's past.

Whether THIS particular story contains the WHOLE truth is besides the point. The point is that Bush is an arrogant, egocentric 'dictator' that 'rules' outside the Constitution and thinks he can do or say anything he wants. The comments quoted in this article are right on character for this guy.

And by the way...you'll NEVER find the sources you're waiting for to back up this story. Bush doesn't run a secretive, dictatorial government for nothing. People are afraid of him...and for good reason.

68. I have no doubt that it's true. But not because of my loathing of Bush.
That's how people are. Especially arrogant people. Especially people who have been handed every thing. People who feel a sense of entitlement. The example of Nixon is valid. Once the cameras were off, he had the kind of foul mouth that would make George Carlin blush and the sort of viceral hatred and ugly disrespect for anyone who didn't agree with him that would make old Joe Stalin swell with pride.

I mean really, if we're going to come on here and call him a motherfucker, do you really think that he's any different? We all know his religious tone is little more than backdrop and marketting. That he's a spoiled little frat boy at heart.

Personally, I'm damn glad that he's angry. I hope he stays angry. I hope he has ulcers. Really bad ones. Like the kind that make him shit blood and wake up in the middle of the night.

70. I believe it
At least, some of it, the gist of it.

I always thought he had such a short fuse that that is the reason his handlers carry him around on a velvet pillow. No protesters allowed, free speech zones, etc.

In August of 2001, I thought he was thinking about resigning because things were not going his way. Jeffords had just turned independent and Bush was not being treated like the King he thought he was. Thinking about that now leads me to believe that then, like now , he could not handle this kind of stress and he had the get the heck out of Washington and work his anger off with physical activity and do whatever else it took (medication)to regain something like normalcy. His new tic (grinding his lower jaw), I believe, is a manifestation of some of this.

Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 10:56 AM by Judi Lynn
that he ran across Judy Woodruff and her husband at dinner in a restaurant in Washington D.C.

Here's the story from the Washington Post:
In early April 1986, Bush ran into Al Hunt, then the Wall Street Journal's Washington bureau chief, at a Mexican restaurant in Dallas, where Hunt was dining with his wife, Judy Woodruff, and their 4-year-old son. The April edition of Washingtonian magazine had come out featuring 16 pundits predicting who would lead the 1988 GOP ticket. Hunt had predicted Jack Kemp over Vice President Bush. (Only half the group said Bush would be the nominee.)

Hunt said Bush approached the table and began cursing at him in front of his child. Hunt said there was no doubt that Bush had been drinking heavily.

"You son of a bitch," Hunt quotes Bush as saying. "I saw what you wrote. We're not going to forget this."
(snip/...)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/campaigns/wh2000/stories/bush072599.htm

On edit: Adding photo of Al Hunt, with Judy standing in the red suit:

144. I remember reading about that too. He launched into an obscenity laced
tirade in front of Judy Woodruff's kid for crying out loud. Never a peep about it from Judy before or during his so called election.
I don't think it is beyond the realm of possibility that he still engages in the same behaviour that he has engaged in all of his live.
To the best of my knowledge he has never had treatment, other than possibly prescription meds so why on earth would anyone think that he has gained enough insight to change long term ingrained behaviors.
This article may be a load of crap but there is a certainly a grain of truth there.

we should try sending it to the braver of the bunch. The press has become bolder in the last few months.

on edit: It's the capitol hilllb blues though, which doesn't have the best record for truthfulness. It's a great story, but I do have to be a bit suspicious of the messenger

150. I have no problem believing this is the way Bush acts in 'private', even
if the source is capitolhillblue. It is standard among arrogant, spoiled brats. I have never seen Bush look or act like what his written script words are saying. It's his eyes that cannot convey human emotion and that stupid smirk that give it away. He does not have any compassion for anyone. He is so conceited any truly believes that he is the only important person in the world. I hate him.

156. The photo in the article is an OLD one
Someone I know sent this article to me in email today. Although, I don't doubt that the Idiot Boy cusses up a storm as he has been caught on audio spewing his BS in the past. I also don't doubt that Cindy is a thorn in his side. What I do doubt is that this Capitol Hill Blue article lacks veracity: Using an old video still to make the case for the story ruins the reporter's credibility.

Thanks for replying to my post, but am at a loss as to what that photo has to do with the fact that CHB used an old video still to add credibility to the part of the story that Georgie flipped the bird at the VFW convention. Using that pic destroyed the entire story.

160. Not sure what to make of that article..
I don't, however, doubt for one second that Bush is a whiny spoiled rich kid who does act deranged behind the scenes.

Two MAJOR things lead me to this conclusion on his behavior:

The middle finger fetish. That to me is so COMPLETELY juvenile that I almost cannot believe my eyes when I see the pictures of him doing it...I mean really, what mature adult would FLIP OFF the camera...even if it is off?

Also, the fact that he has not met with Cindy Sheehan for a mere half hour in private in order to virtually KILL this entire protest is beyond me. Any SANE person would do it. It wouldn't hurt him one bit, in fact it would HELP his ratings!!!

He is just such a stubborn, bullheaded rich brat that he isn't going to meet with her no matter what good it will do. It has become a matter of principle to him.

161. Several years from now in a small classroom...
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 12:00 PM by Javaman
in an out of the way highschool, in a tiny midwestern town. Several people sit in a circle in those uncomfortable school room chair that have those pseudo desks attached to them.

A man sits, eyes darting from side to side, grinding his teeth, shifts uncomforably in his chair. The man stands...

Man: Hi, I'm GWB...you can call me W, heh heh heh, ah hem...(cough)...

Group: Hi, GWB...

Man: And I am...I am...

Group: Yes, W?

Man: I am, here to night to tell you...

Group: Yes?

Man: You see, I have this issue with...

The group grows impatient...

Man: The issue is that, people are disconnected with reality

Group Leader: W? Please we are all here to help you, you don't need to be afraid...

Man: You calling me chicken???

Group Leader: No, that's not what I'm saying, please just calm down...

Man: are you saying I'm high strung????? Well, take that!!!

The man flips off the Group Leader with the finger.

The Group Leader shakes his head in discust.

Group Leader: Look, george...

Man: W!!

Group Leader: right, whatever. That kind of behavior may work with congress, the press, world leaders, republicans, your family, friends, college buddies, cronnies, drinking pals, drug suppliers, doctors, lawyers, check out clerks, cleaning people, CEO's, vice presidents, cabinet members, members of the senate, the supreme court and Cindy Sheehan, but we won't put up with it here. You're a little boy george* and you have to start acting like a man. Now fess up.

george* sits dejected and pouty.

george*: mama always told me I was special, that I was the one with the brains.

Group Leader: do you have something to say to us, george*?

george* stands up.

george*: Hi, I'm george*...

Group: Hi, george*...

george*: and I'm a moron.

The group claps.

162. Capitol Hill Blue is not a reputable source. They have been putting out
reports of Bush being "unbalanced" for some time, but these have not been corroborated. They are generally based on unnamed "concerned aides." Maybe they're factual and maybe they aren't. We should not make any claims based on reports from this source alone, though they do make interesting reading.

Here's more convincing evidence of Bush's mental deterioration: a video presentation comparing his speechmaking ability 10 years ago with now. Believe it or not, he was a good, fluent speaker then, even without notes. The difference from now indicates that his "problem" is not due to a lifelong issue like congenital aphasia. It's deterioration - most likely presenile dementia, which is progressive. Watch this video:

No offense to blogslut, but I have read far too many sensational and uncorroborated reports from Capitol Hill Blue to trust it.

These include two off the top of my head being Bush taking strong drugs to control violent mood swings (http://www.capitolhillblue.com/cgi-bin/artman/exec/view.cgi?archive=33&num=5141) and Nancy Reagan telling off the Republican Party (article removed?).

But this story strains credibility. There may be some truth to it, but it seems a little extreme.

I do, however, recall a story that he went off on his aides after one of the debates (the first one, I think... when Kerry made him look particularly chimpy) in a room backstage and was using particularly unChristian language.

193. It's been mentioned above - capitalhillblue runs lots of no source leads
over the top stories. It's one of their mainstays.

Just an FYI - you all probably knew that - but thought I'd throw that into this discussion, again.

While the gist of the piece - Busboy has a temper and swears in private - seems likely, the uncited fleshing out of the story, and it's specific quotes, are up for grabs.

Good gossip piece, though, for what that's worth.

222. They quote the author of an EXCELLENT book, "Bush On The Couch"...
Bush’s behavior, according to prominent Washington psychiatrist, Dr. Justin Frank, author of “Bush on the Couch: Inside the Mind of the President,” is all too typical of an alcohol-abusing bully who is ruled by fear.

To see that fear emerges, Dr. Frank says, all one has to do is confront the President. “To actually directly confront him in a clear way, to bring him out, so you would really see the bully, and you would also see the fear,” he says.

Dr. Frank, in his book, speculates that Bush, an alcoholic who brags that he gave up booze without help from groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, may be drinking again.

“Two questions that the press seems particularly determined to ignore have hung silently in the air since before Bush took office,” Dr. Frank says. “Is he still drinking? And if not, is he impaired by all the years he did spend drinking? Both questions need to be addressed in any serious assessment of his psychological state.”

Combined with CHB's penchant for printing disinformation, this makes for entertaining speculation, but that's all.
