Some say Fox's coverage of Pat Robertson is a bit odd
http://www.newshounds.us/

Fox Morphs Pat Robertson Into Television Personality
Yesterday on Studio B with Shepard Smith, there were several teasers into the Pat Robertson story of him calling for the assassination of President Chavez of Venezuela. However, in each of these teasers they referred to Pat Robertson as a 'Television Personality'.

In The Unbalanced World Of FOX News, The Guests Are Gaga For Assassinations
What kind of network advocates for assassination twice (that I know of) in one night? First, regular FOX News guest Wayne Simmons appeared on Hannity & Colmes last night and said Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez "should have been killed long ago." Then less than two hours later, FOX News Military Analyst Colonel David Hunt appeared on The Alan Colmes Show and said "I think we ought to kill the son of a bitch and I don't care how we do it."

Never mind the fact that it's illegal. As Hunt put it, "I don't think we should be held captive by our own ethics and morals when we're in a war for our very survival."

Hannity & Colmes Regular Says Chavez "Should Have Been Killed A Long Time Ago"
Colmes asked if, as a Chrisitian nation, assassinating another country's leader would be the Christian thing to do.

Simmons: I'm a Christian as well but I'm also about protecting this country.

Colmes: Do you want him dead?

"Absolutely. He should have been killed a long time ago... It doesn't matter to me who kills this guy. He's to go."

Colmes said assassinations are against the law. "We don't do that."

Simmons: "The president can order that. That should have been ordered. This guy needs to go."

Big Blond Buffoon: No Bush Apology Needed for Robertson Remark
George W. Bush, who owes his victory to evangelical Christians, does not need to do anything to distance himself from evangelical preacher Pat Robertson's suggestion that the U.S. assassinate the leader of Venezuela. That's according to "The Big Story's" big blond buffoon of a host, John Gibson

Gibson said Wednesday (August 24, 2005) that Robertson is only a private citizen and not part of the government so Bush need not do anything. Gibson was riled up over the Rev. Jesse Jackson's statement that Bush needed to condemn Robertson's remark about Hugo Chavez in order to disassociate the U.S. from it.

Gibson then tried to make the case that assassinating foreign leaders is better than going to war, noting that "today there are 1,900 dead soldiers in Iraq and Saddam Hussein is alive. Don't you wish that were reversed?"

3. This is a frightening quote
"I don't think we should be held captive by our own ethics and morals when we're in a war for our very survival."

And we're called "moral relativists"?

That's just plain scary.

6. Carte blanche
Sorry about using one of them French phrases but that is what this crackpot is proposing. All is fair in times of war. Do whatever you want and we will figure it out later (when this war ends).

Scarey indeed.

5. Who is the bigger threat to the world, Chavez or any memeber of US junta?
The talking heads best be thinking about that before they get off on calling for such actions against leaders they consider as dangerous. The rest of the world just might agree with them...
