Liberals Under My Bed!
Tom Tomorrow's "perverse product of the week"
http://www.thismodernworld.com/weblog/mtarchives/week_2005_08_21.html#002394

"Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed" is the book conservative parents have been seeking. This illustrated book — the first in the "Help! Mom!" series from Kids Ahead — is perfect for parents who seek to share their traditional values with their children, as well as adults who wish to give a humorous gift to a friend.

Hailed as "the answer to a baseball mom's prayers" by talk radio host Melanie Morgan, "Liberals Under My Bed" has already been the subject of coverage in The Wall Street Journal and Harper’s magazine. Written by a self-proclaimed "Security Mom for Bush" and featuring hilarious full-color illustrations by a Reuben Award winning artist, it is certain to be one of the most talked about children's books of the year.

1. People, please don't buy this...
we don't need to know what it contains, and we certainly don't want to put any more money in these people's pockets.

6. It's hard for me to believe a kid would even find this entertaining.
It's like writing a children's book about 401k management. They're just not tuned into politics. I would never buy a book titled "Help Mom! there are Conservatives under my bed!" I mean, what a yawner for a kid.

11. my kids are very much tuned in. even young it effects
their lives and they recognize it. they went to a christian school for years and loved the place. they watched spring of 04 and beyond as that school turned form loving to aggressive, fundamentalist, hate filled. it effected their world. they had to learn to put that event alone into perspective. they have a couple gay uncles. they have to put that into perspective. they are the only anti bush in their school, against the war, and they feel it. kids today, starting with understanding 9/11, election theft, loss of right to speak, out of control cops, war, ..... all these things are there for them to see in their future

my kids are more aware than a lot of adults

7. And, as usual, they exaggerate...
"pay half their money in taxes"

This is exactly how they keep the sheeple on their side...making them think the liberals will make them pay half their income in taxes. Why not start with the kids? Gives them a dozen year head start on the brainwashing!

10. The FIRST in a series of "Help, Mom!" books?
Besides the ones already suggested in the review, I just can't WAIT to see when "Help, Mom! there's Evolutionists in my Science class" and "Help, Mom! there's Atheists living EVERYWHERE!" go into print.....
:sarcasm:

12. Why Not Teach Kids...
So, they teach the kids - the characters open a lemonade stand, but the liberals make them pay half their income in taxes.

Why not teach kids if people didn't pay taxes there would be no money to build the sidewalks for them to have their lemonade stand and the water they used for it would be even nastier than it is. Actually, they may not have the lemons to make lemonade because there were no roads, etc to get the lemons from Florida and California to the rest of the country.

13. I wrote a review. It was fun. I suggest everyone be sure and add
your 2¢ worth. I want to get that rating down to one star. Should be posted withing 24 hours. Here's what I wrote, hope it helps:

Insipient vade mecum scribbled by an oblivious stenographer of neocon talking points for propagandizing sciolism and animus to children who will mature into the exact clones of their hate-mongering, fearful, dullard, Christian Taliban extremist parents. Maybe they will get really lucky and it will come out on tape since some of those words can be real-l-l-l-ly hard.
