http://www.mediawhoresonline.com/Julian Borger Names Karl Rove
"Several of the journalists are saying privately 'yes it was Karl Rove who I talked to.'"
Guardian audio report here. (about 1:20 in) (oh, and here's the web page where it can be found) (thanks to the tip from sl)
Today:
The focus on Rove brought an odd twist to Bush's travels. When the president boarded Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base outside of Washington, he walked up the steps and waved — and not a single camera followed. He looked momentarily perplexed. All lenses were trained on Rove at the bottom of the steps.
To hear various Bush apologists tell it, disclosing the name of an undercover CIA operative doesn't really count if:
the traitor(s) disclosed the classified information to Bob Novak in person, rather than by telephone
the traitors who disclosed the identity of the undercover CIA operative didn't ask Bob Novak to "leak" the information
the CIA refers "about 50" suspected disclosures a year (shades of "But it was only 16 words in a whole big speech with lots and lots of words!")
no harm has yet come to the CA operative whose identity was disclosed by White House traitors
Yes, believe it or not, those are some of the ludicrous defenses of Bush's treasonous high level officials floated by Republican apologists. Unfortunately for them, the law doesn't agree. Unfortunately for America, John Ashcroft is unlikely to pay attention to the law, and the state-run national media are unlikely to compel him to do so.
