Another doctor has arrived at Camp Casey. Dr. Sais Rizbi from Chicago came to the camp as a supporter and was drafted into service as a camp doctor. One more nurse has arrived, but those with medical training are still needed.


Camp coordinator Ann Wright said, “The area at Camp Casey II has no camping space left. There is limited space at site I. Those newcomers wishing to camp may have to camp in town or somewhere else.”


Wright also said, “Those coming for the activities this weekend, bring your own spray misters or perhaps a wet kerchief—anything you need to help with the heat. The crush of people expected should bring plenty of water. Also, because of the heat, pets should be left at home if possible, due to the heat. Please be watchful of the children and the elderly, as they are more susceptible to the heat.”


There is also a masseuse on hand giving a massage to those who wish.


A bus from Arizona will be arriving this afternoon. Fifteen Veterans For Peace members will be arriving on Saturday. Five buses from Austin, Houston, and Dallas are expected this weekend.

I think CC is correct to expect a lot of visitors over the weekend.

I know at least one carload from the Twin Cities that departed today. I'm sure they are coming again from all over.

I'm glad there will be a lot of supporters there when the Freepers arrive by bus. They are wack jobs and will no doubt try to cause some trouble.

Planning to pick up as much water as I can before I get there. We should be there by 10 or so. My husband isn't making the trip, so the times I give should be accurate.
