More evidence of turning tides.
We had a couple come in to see a movie last night. I noticed the guy's dog tags, and mentioned our military discount. He told me he had been recently discharged for medical reasons, and was very happy to be back.

He then proceeded, unprompted, to bitch for ten minutes about conditions in Iraq, lack of equipment, and (most damning) lack of pay for the soldiers. One comment made when he complained about how little they were getting paid was "what are you going to buy here, more sand?"

I really believe that as this war drags on we're going to hear more and more stories like this and others we've seen lately. Bit by bit the footsoldiers, the grunts, the folks on the front lines, are becoming disillusioned with the war and the people running it. If we can position ourselves as the people who believe in REALLY supporting our troops, especially by bringing them home and not allowing them to be used in a madman's adventuring ever again, we'll go far.

1. Really...somehow the grunts/etc are slowing seeing the Pubs BS
of supporting the military and efforts as very hollow.

What the hell is the Noble Cause is on their minds thanx to Cindy.

3. Perhaps this is part of the reason why . . .
. . .so many of them are being kept over there an additional year.

4. They must really be tripping. I heard soldiers talk about how they're
sent on these missions to rouse the inhabitants, and the next day the bad guys are right back where they started. Must make the guys wonder if the boss knows what hell he's doing.
