I heard a Canadian caller on "Alex Bennett" say
that his national health insurance premium was $80 for three months. Jeeez, wouldn't that nice here. I bet they are glad "georgie" ain't there to 'splain everything to them.

PS: This is my 400th post. My daughter shared du with me about a year ago.She all grownup and gone now, but she and I enjoy being du'ers together. A du dad:toast:

4. Yea, but beer is like $50 a case!
Believe me...they are paying for health care.

And Alex Bennett sealed the deal for me last week. I'm going to officially cancel Sirius and get XM. I was bummed when Air America went XM exclusive, but promised I'd try to get by with Talk Left. I'm so sick and tired of listening to Alex whine in the morning about his own life issues and no public issues. Last week he finally brought up Cindy Sheehan and did nothing but bash her. Between him and Lynn Samuels, they do nothing for me. I realized that I switched over to regular radio during those times. Since liberal radio was the reason I bought Sirius to begin with, I'm done with them. I won't listen to one more morning of his whining.

Congrats on your 4,000th post!

5. He is a whiner and after last week's bashing of Cindy,
I'm looking to change too.

6. Yes, then we had to be subjected to a tirade about what "assholes"
we the listeners are because we want him gone.

I'm sorry, but he adds nothing of value to Talk Left. He certainly is not liberal radio.

I know all about his blood in urine problems, his medical tests, what a jerk his doctor is, what foods his girlfriend prefers, etc. and I don't know his position on any important social issue other than he disagrees with Cindy.

Forget him. Talk Left sucks with the exception of The Young Turks. I actually enjoy listening to them, but they are too little, too late. I'll miss them at XM, but cannot wait to get Randi, Al and Jeneane (sp?) back.

14. I completely agree.
I heard that tirade.

I belief that I was basically told to go **bleep** myself.

I muttered in my car, "Fine. No more Sirius."

7. Beer $50 a case?
Yes... if that case held about 48 cans.

9. Forgive me. I was there years ago and I just remember the
beer and cigarette prices were thru the roof compared to the US.

The year was 1990 and that's what sticks with me. That and the fact the beer stores were simply called "The Beer Store." Cracked me up.

11. Calling it "The Beer Store" ...
certainly makes it clear what they sell, right? Makes total sense to me, but then again, I live here.

12. Even funnier it had "The Liquor Store" right next door.
I couldn't figure out why you can't buy both at one store. But, then again, I don't live there.

I didn't know they would be state-run before I went. I used to "O'Malley's Liquor Store" or something to that effect. You know...privately owned.

I meant no offense, it just seemed funny to me because it was so generic.

8. It could be done here and everyone would be happy including
the health care professionals. But we are going to have to fight the HMO's and insurance companies tooth and nail to get it and they fight really dirty.
