You know, Walter Pincus has been laying low lately. Could it be...
... that he's got ALL the goods on the administration regarding this CIA leak?

He had a story a day or two ago on the inconsistencies between British and American intelligence about Iraqi WMD, and how this shows how little either really knew. But that seemed like a rote peice that just pulled from a lot of earlier information. It made a lot of valid points, but not his usual stuff.

For those unfamiliar, Pincus is the Washington Post reporter who hounded the administration with the Niger story some weeks ago (he basically broke it and kept it alive until it blew up). It has often been said here that Pincus is a pipeline to the CIA. Even that he works to further their causes (whether it's official or not).

Maybe Pincus is one of the reporters contacted by the White House, and maybe he's going to talk. Maybe he has evidence proving Rove, or Cheney, or whomever, committed this leak.

Just thinking, but it seems he has been laying unusually low lately.

1. Pincus has been a steady source from CIA ....
and His silence is deafening, so to speak .....

But: ... I dont think he would be on Rove's short list of friendly hacks ..... A few months ago, NOFACTS himself derided Pincus for his hard hitting newstories .....

Pincus is the LAST person who would push a favor for Rove ....

I sure hope he is ok and gathering information from his friends ....

2. Yeah, not so much one of the reporters called. But his close ties w/ CIA
... and with this story, I think, make it likely that he's on it in some way.

3. IIRC he was cited as a contributor to a WP Traitorgate story

within the past day or 2.

Bet he has a few surprises coming down the line for us. (I originally wrote "a few bom*shells in the p*peline" but suddenly decided that I didn't want to be talking to any H*meland S*curity people in the near future.)
((Asterisks added as a primitive attempt to avoid showing up on a C*rnivore search.))

4. I've been wondering the same thing
What does Pincus know, and when is he going to share it? Could be a lot.

He has been called a CIA "mouthpiece" by Mike Ruppert - so I doubt Rove would have called Pincus to try to spread a leak about Wilson's wife.

I think there's a lot more unraveling to come. The CIA will take its time.
