Me, I contributed my own bad self, some back issues of The Nation from 2004, and a 40-pound box filled with gel-ice packs to help those folks keep their cool. (I think CNN showed Cindy unpacking one of those Nation issues from her daily box of supplies from CPH.)

The Crawford post office returned lots of mail as undeliverable early this week. They got visited by 4 mail inspectors. Doesn't hurt to check it out. Call your local PO.

A pair of walkie talkies, folding chairs, a cooler, a couple of boxes of food, coffee and tea, a case of water, batteries, a flashlight, sunscreen and bug spray, rain ponchos, signs, markers, a small amount of cash, that's all I can remember at the moment. A pittance compared to the incredibly hard work done by all those who volunteered at the Peace House.

By the way, today is the 85th anniversary of womens' sufferage. Imagine that, merely 85 years ago, women FINALLY pulled out of servitute and successfully fought for the right to vote in this country. My Grandmother was the first woman in my lineage who is still alive to have the right to vote. It's almost freaky to think that women were kept in servitude until merely 85 years ago. Of course, women are still a LONG way from being treated equally, along with other minorities.
