Today is going to be a big day in Crawford. Both sides' numbers will swell. The Crawford Police are committed to keeping the two sides apart. They have been very cooperative for the 2 weeks that I have been here. I think all will go well today. The Pro-war folks will get great media coverage, so t r u t h o u t will do its best to show you what is really going in Crawford.

On Saturday, the population of Crawford is expected to swell by thousands. At Camp Casey, entertainment on the stage is planned all day. People are being encouraged to come to that location instead of Camp Casey I.
The intense heat and the possibility of clashes between pro-war and anti-war supporters may make Saturday a dangerous day. Caution is being urged and people are instructed to keep their tempers at bay.

This weekend will no doubt be the biggest yet, and the Peace House and the teams at the camps have been preparing and planning to keep things running smoothly as possible and keep everyone safe. This is a huge task, as you can imagine.
Critical update: There is no more camping space available at Camp II.
A huge concern is parking. PLEASE come with others to lessen the number of vehicles here. We are running out of places to park all of you. If you can bring a vehicle like an SUV or van and volunteer as a shuttle driver, you will have our undying gratitude. If you can volunteer to help manage parking, you will have our undying gratitude and a really good tan!
Where to park: The football stadium lot is not available to us at all until Sunday. The lots near the Peace House will get filled. An alternative is the Weston Inn parking lot, on Rt. 84 just west of Rt 317 (less than 10 minutes from the Peace House). We will shuttle you from there.
As of today, Friday 8/26, there is no traffic (other than emergencies and deliveries) between camp I and camp II, by order of the sheriff. You will have to take the shuttle back to the Peace House and then another vehicle to the other location. Rented Greyhound busses will go to camp II, the new site, and shuttle vans will go to camp I, the original location.
Please read our info posts, here and here about coming to Crawford. There will be a lot of counter-protesters here this weekend. Please do not engage them with hostility, arguments or shouting matches. We're the peaceful ones, remember!
What you can bring: We currently need paper cups, bowls, plates and plastic cutlery. Please bring some with you.
Conserve water! Just because we have bottle of water free for the taking doesn't make the water any less a precious commonity, especially in Texas in August! Don't take a couple of swallows and leave the bottle for someone else to clean up, only to get another and do the same.
Help keep things clean. Discard your own dishes. Help clean the kitchen after a meal. Take out the trash. This is a community, not a vacation spot; do your part.
