CRAWFORD — Air America's popular host Laura Flanders will join Brad Friedman of The Brad Show via Raw Radio Saturday night in a simulcast from The Peace House in Crawford.
Friedman has for several days been broadcasting with what he calls "hamster/wheel technology," his definition of a makeshift broadcasting set-up at Camp Casey II and The Peace House. He described the addition of Flanders and Air America as "an historic partnership," since the two organizations generally compete against each other.
Friedman cut short his summer vacation in Nevada to come to Crawford to cover "live, on the air" the events surrounding Gold Star Mother Cindy Sheehan's standoff with George W. Bush. During his drive to Texas, he consulted with various technical experts who put their heads and talents together to devise a method of broadcasting from a remote area such as Camp Casey.
He has now broadcast over 26 hours of live radio across four different radio networks since last Monday, including exclusive uninterrupted coverage of Joan Baez' performances from Camp Casey and Cindy Sheehan's late-night comments to supporters.
