What's the RW's argument against labor unions ?

I'm a huge supporter of unions and wish my industry had one. I've heard the standard canard of union officials ripping off rank and file. What else does the RW say about unions ? Thanks in advance.

7. RW's like to compare the mordern unions to the old ones where

when a position was no longer needed the company still had to fill it. Railroad unions were really one of the only unions to do this.

Modern unions dont put up with slackers and deatbeats, but the greedy bastards in the conservative parties still use this as a reason to hate unions.

Ever seen a UPS driver slack off?

Not likely and they are all Teamsters union workers who make a good wage and have retirement benefits not the cheesy 401K's that most companies offer.

9. I think it's their ego.

They want to believe they've done EVERYTHING themselves. They determine being born with money is God's righteousness poured upon them, and that others are therefore God's impoverished.

Beyond God, their education was just an investment government made that paid off: "see MY ego?!" Thus they will tolerate a plan to better education as long as it tests people and then teaches the high testers.

They will only change their mind if their trust funds run out and they actually fail beyond their family and friends ability to bail them out.

Unions do not stroke their ego. What? I cannot haggle for myself! Poppycock!

Also, military drafts are an exreme socialism that, should it happen to them, tends to wake them out of their CONned stupor -- provided they ever learned to think.

10. They don't like paying living wages and benefits. It cuts into

their profits. Ever since the days of slavery the business mantra has always been to pay whatever the worker will take, even if it's starvation wages. They consider it the worker's problem to individually bargain for a better wage. Of course this doesn't work very well.

If a union barters for a group of workers, then this is a lot scarier for the employer cause they can afford to lose one worker but not a whole shop of workers.

We really need to get back to the days of strong unions.

11. It's a counteractive force of the ruling class.

It gives workers a voice in their own destiny, and not subject to those who hoard the profits, and want to hoard control of those who make the profits. Repugs just cant put up with that. They believe in the divine right of kings, and of elites. People power is against their religion.
