Arnold Rumor. He collected workmans comp?
Edited on Wed Oct-01-03 01:09 PM by brainshrub
Just heard a rumor that Arnold Schwarzenegger collected Workmans Comp in Hawaii. (Allegedly, he was working as a union brick-layer or something and hurt himself.) Is this true? How could this be proven?
I also heard that he has attacked Workmans Comp during his campaign. I don't live in California, so I don't know if any of this is true.
This supposedly happened in 1966,Honnolulu union block.

Note: I accidentally posted this same thread in another room. I'm a newbie to DU...so I hope I haven't just broken netiquette.

1. Sounds ridiculous to me
To paraphrase Johnie Cochran, "If no link, then the rumor must stink!"

2. Welcome to DU Square Pants ---- There is a lot about Arnold that
we all do not know. I think that is one reason they did not want the election put off too long. If things like the Hawaii thing are true.......

5. I was irritated that the reporter on CNN called it "workmen's comp"
Glad to see that someone else noticed the continuing usage of a very outdated term.

:-)

4. He also told a story
on Johnny Carson about when he was a brick layer. He and his fellow workers would go up on a roof and knock down chimneys and go to the homeowner and tell them how "dangerous" it is to have bricks falling off their chimney. All to scam the homeowners out of their hard earned money by rebuliding the very chimney AHHHNOLD tore down. THAT will probably be Ca.'s next governor? Pathetic!
