Is Cindy Sheehan against all war?

letter in Aug. 26, 2005 Minneapolis Star Tribune:

"The Star Tribune's Aug. 24 editorial ("Peace's face / Lourey makes a powerful witness") glosses over a few important points. First, Cindy Sheehan certainly has the right to protest the war, as do all Americans. But Sheehan is not opposed to just the war in Iraq; she is opposed to all war. There is a huge difference."

5. There is no such thing as a "war on poverty".

That is another ridiculous phrase like a war on terrorism or drugs. You can't have a war on an idea. What was done in Iraq war an invasion. So none of the above are really properly used.

How about a "War on Subtlty" or "War on Bad Irony"...maybe name a few islands after these terms and the issue's settled.

12. The letter writer has it wrong. Just last night, Cindy told Maher...

that "we would all want to protect America and protect our communities if we had to, but not die to make other people rich for greed and power"
