Remember when Ann Coulter's title was "Constitutional Attorney"?
They used to paste "Constitutional Attorney" under her name whenever she'd come on to spew her filth. This was probably about three or four years ago, when she really started to hit the scene.

Does anybody have any record of any major cases she has tried? Does she even have a law degree?

I know I'm not the only one on DU who remembers this.

1. U of Michigan JD
"She graduated cum laude from Cornell in 1984, and went on to receive her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was an editor of The Michigan Law Review. At law school, Ann shared an apartment with the human and civil rights advocate Cindy Cohn who is now the Legal Director for the Electronic Frontier Foundation. At Michigan, she founded a local chapter of the Federalist Society. She also received training at the National Journalism Center. After practicing corporate law for four years, she became a congressional aide in Washington, D. C. in 1994, working as a staffer to Republican Senator Spencer Abraham, who served on the Senate Judiciary Committee before working for a public interest law firm."

3. What was "constitutional" about her practice?
She sounds like a corporate attack dog to me.

4. A Cornell alum?? I'm shocked.
Shocked and ashamed. Keith Olbermann's alma mater... and mine ('74).

Footnote: She must have really hated Ithaca, which some freepers have called the "Sodom and Gomorrah" of the east....

9. did she change her name? She doesn't turn up at martindale

Even if I search for just "coulter" I don't see her - aren't ALL U.S. attorneys listed there?

8. So far we've determined:
- Ann Coulter is indeed an attorney.
- She's a founding member of a Federalist Society chapter.
- She's considered a "constitutional expert" by the mainstream media because she coached Paula Jones once.

Okay, just checking.

11. I don't think we've determined even that
Isn't wikipedia open source? Anybody can post & edit there, right? But the official source to locate U.S. attorneys is Martindale-Hubble, and I can't find her there - can you?

13. It's hard to believe, I know...but I am not making it up.
In her "early days" as a TV pundit, she was always shown on screen as a "Constitutional Attorney". I was wondering what the origin of that claim was.

It does not yet appear that there was anything particularly "constitutional" about her practice, other than that she was coaching Paula Jones in order to get Clinton impeached.
