I won't post them but you can go look for yourself. They have shots of both inside and outside the tent. Looks like several hundred to me. What do you think? These shots are more informative than anything off the wire services.

35. That should be saved
and produced as evidence of how these people hate the troops and their mothers. If such a sign were on the other side, it would be all over the media. Has anyone sent this to CNN or any of the other media outlets? They need to show the country who Bush's supporters are and how much they detest their country and all its principles.

I will send that to my Republican friends with Casey's photo and with the heartbreaking picture of Cindy crying, holding his teddy-bear. She paid the ultimate price for Bush's lies and this is what his supporters do to her?

Has anything comparable been done to those mothers who still support Bush? There needs to be outrage over this ~ who is this Beck character whose name appears at the bottom of that sign?

I think we should use this every time one of them claims to support the troops. They are beyond despicable ~ this sign says it all and should be circulated far and wide, imo.

14. Faux decided not to embarrass the president
Edited on Sat Aug-27-05 08:09 PM by Timefortruth
by covering this Tupperware Party/prowar rally. They would have had 15 reporters there, but then they would have outnumbered the supporters.

If there were some news to feed the propaganda machine in Crawford today, the machine would have been fed. Freepers should be satisfied that CNN reported their press release without bothering to verify it.

What's worse is that this was an all expense paid trip for those who believe, but it still wasn't worth a Saturday to them.

Over at Freerepublic their very best photos are so sad that if it weren't them I'd feel sorry for the planners.

Edited on Sat Aug-27-05 08:26 PM by xxqqqzme
crawford 'downtown' is a corner intersection w/ a store/restaurant combo complete w/ flat b*sh. Same side but across is the 'yellow rose gift shop' w/ the liberty bell & 10 commandments. 3rd corner across from store R 3 grain cribs; 4th corner across from yellow rose is a vacant lot next to Crawford Peace House; Railroad tracks run behind the grain cribs & empty lot. The post office is about a mile down the road in a residential area. Downtown is about 3 blocks away from the ball park which they insist is a stadium.

Edited on Sat Aug-27-05 09:01 PM by ecoflame
And I'm thinking

Underneath the tent from what I could see a couple of hundred, three maybe. This pic for instance: (pro-Bush rally in Crawford, 8/27)

we had about this many at our noontime rally on Wednesday when Bush was in town and the estimate was 100. There were crosses (1863) in the Capitol park that were erected.

At our evening rally there were 800+. Each person who came was to pick up a cross and put in another area on the way 'out' so we could get some kind of count. We were trying to outdo SLC....but SLC was freakin' amazing! Approximately half of the folks were on the statehouse steps. By the end of the rally, all the steps were filled. All the photos haven't been posted on the Peace Coalition's site.

Iraqi activist taken up by Bush recants her views

By Andrew Buncombe

Published: 28 August 2005

She was the Iraqi activist who became a symbol of the possibility of a brighter future for Iraq.

Back in February, with blue ink on her finger symbolising the recent Iraqi election in which she had just voted, Safia Taleb al-Souhail was invited to sit with the first lady, Laura Bush, and listen to the President claim in his state of the union address that success was being achieved in Iraq. Her picture went round the world after she turned to hug Janet Norwood, a Texas woman whose son had been killed in Iraq.

But now it appears Ms Souhail, an anti-Saddam activist who became Iraq's ambassador to Egypt, may be having second thoughts about the "success" she celebrated with a two-fingered victory sign.

Having seen the negotiations for the country's constitution fall into disarray and the prospect of a secular constitution severely undermined, she expressed her concerns last week.

"When we came back from exile, we thought we were going to improve rights and the position of women. But look what has happened: we have lost all the gains we made over the past 30 years. It's a big disappointment. Human rights should not be linked to Islamic sharia law at all. They should be listed separately in the constitution."
