2. Are the lights back on in Baghdad yet?
It's the "end of September," you know. That electricity's got to be back to pre-war levels by now. Bremer said it would be.

3. Speaking on behalf of Byrd's amendment to separate the U. S. military
portion/reconstruction,rehabilitations parts of the emergency $87 Billion appropriation for Iraq/Afghanistan.

He's ripping Bremer a new one, says NO PLANS for rehabilitation, issues of contracting, transparency in contracts(who has overcharged the Defense Department, other countries allowed to bid), SECURITY IS TERRIBLE AND THE PLAN TO PUT TO TORTURER POLICE BACK IN CHARGE is despicable....

5. and now the good news from Iraq....
brought to you by Kit Bond. The new talking points - how the news isn't gloomy. Like Scraborough on the Daily Show last night. "It's all good!"

6. Oh, they're setting up a free market
and CUTTING TAXES and IMPORT rates. Gee, could that be because they have to import EVERYTHING.

Now ties Iraq to 9/11. What a Moran.

7. I met Kit Bond
... a zillion years ago, must've been about 1972. I had a summer job working for the Missouri State Fair, in their media office. At one point we put Bond on a baby elephant and took publicity photos. He was kind of cute in those days, but then so was I. (sigh)

I don't have a point, except that in those days I think he was a normal Republican. Now he's just a Bushie water boy.
