Why the Repugs are STUPID where Amb. Wilson is concerned
They keep pushing this line about Wilson being a partisan (i.e. Democratic) critic of the war.

The fact is, I cannot believe for a moment that Wilson does not have the full blessing of the CIA behind him, thanks to his wife's sensitive position. All his media appearances, statements, and past work on the Niger uranium issue bear the Agency's seal of approval. If Langley didn't want Wilson out there with his accusations, he wouldn't be doing it--period. I think he is the herald angel of more scandalous revelations to come.

1. They also seem unable to comprehend
that the letter he was following up on was quite obviously a forgery and that there is no question as to the status of it.

4. That forgery led to a preemptive attack against a non-aggressor
I live on a military base, and we're hunkered in here like East Germans before the "wende" despite Saddam's having been ousted. I thought the world was supposed to be a better place after he was gone. Not so for US military bases. It's like we're expecting a terror attack any day now for all the security we go through just to get on base. Bush's preemptive attack has brought more insecurity and uncertainty to our country, not less. The Bushies know that there will be pay-back down the road. They invited it.

The WH's revealing of its CIA operatives to the world diminishes US security that much more.

Bush's reign of terror has been a disaster for our country's welfare. I honestly don't see how the U.S. can survive another year of this incompetence.

2. They also forget that Pappy Bush first appointed him
Another case of Republicans eating their own.

3. The quickest way to make this go away
would be for the right wing establishment to condemn this publicly and demand that those responsible come forward. Trying to discredit Wilson only fans the flames and makes them look more partisan than they accuse him of being.

5. Where they are stupid, is that Wilson is not the issue.
Wilson's political leanings are no more important than yours or mine. He is as much a spectator in this as we are. They are just trying to make him the issue in order to side track the media.

6. They're calling him partisan because...

... in their experience, if they say it enough, people will believe them and the truth won't matter. Iran-Contra special prosecutor Lawrence Walsh was a moderate Republican, but they painted him as a Democratic partisan.

This is why keeping the pressure on is important: these lies and implications have to be thrown back in their face at every turn so that they don't have a chance to take root.
