I was reading some of the PNAC documents and I noticed that Junior isn't one of the signatories.
I find that quite revealing.
I'm sure this notion has been bandied about a great deal, but it's becoming increasingly clear to me that Bush is nothing but a front man who is following PNAC marching orders like a lap-dog intern.
Junior's extended (and unprecedented) vacations remind me that he is not needed. He is not steering this ship. He's an empty suit--a presentable, supposedly likable figurehead that served as the electable facade.
They needed someone likable. Also--they needed someone gullible, malleable and weak. They selected Junior--an ace bullshitter with weak ego strength from his years of goofing off, alcoholism and numerous business failures. The perfect blob of clay they could mold.
My guess is that Junior doesn't even understand the gravity of what surrounds him. I bet they send him out of the room when they discuss important matters. However, Junior's name is all over their policies. If something crashes or is unpopular--no worry to the PNACers--Bush takes the heat, not them.
They invaded Iraq in his name. They plan to dismantle Social Security in his name--an act that no politician ever dared to touch. They craft policies that make rich their friends and family--in his name. They continue this failed war--based on lies--in his name. They've used him to further their agenda and they could care less what happens to his polls or popularity. Junior is just the lap dog that they set out front.
And now they send him on a month-long vacation.
What are they doing? What are they planning?
No wonder Junior looks so stressed. He knows what they're capable of and he knows whatever they do will be done in his name.
