Stephanie is right-this storm is going to
be bush`s downfall. the entire midwest is going to feel the economic effects of this storm .gasoline and natural gas prices will collapse the midwestern economy. we are going to start shipping grain to the world next month and- pray to god it doesn`t- the mississippi could change course and leave baton rouge and new orleans without a navigable river.
so george you worry about your iraqi shithole and we will help rebuild our country without your sorry ass..

1. We just need one shot of him out bicycling today
Hey, DUers in Crawford, can you still see his bike route from where you are? Station photographers there. Seriously.

Although I actually believe he's too drunk to bike right now.

8. Couple that with the fact that hurricane Katrina ...
... has diverted media coverage away from the "anti-Cindy" protests. There big event has garnered almost no notice.

I am in NO way implying that the hurricane and the immense danger it poses is a good thing. This is horrible and I wish safety for all effected.

3. Copper supply?

A large fortune 500 company that is one of the biggest copper suppliers in the world has it's HQ in NO... I know their mines aren't there, but I have to wonder if supply will be signifigantly disrupted.

NO isn't a huge city, but there are some extremely important things there, in addition to the oil rigs. The impact this will have on the economy could be big. The opening of the stock market could be rough tomorrow -- I wouldn't be too terribly surprised to see BushCo out in force taking measures to play down the economic impact to avoid a sell-off.

7. every news item should end with this * Quote
When asked to comment, Bush replied:

"But," he added, "I think it's also important for me to go on with my life, to keep a balanced life."

9. "so george you worry about your iraqi shithole"
that's some plain speaking i really appreciate. watching the hurricane coverage right now, it makes it so plain that we have our own serious problems of all kinds in this country. we need our soldiers and our focus back to the united states.
