And all others in the path of Katrina.

We are all helpless in the face of a hurricane; if common sense precautions weren't already in place, when it is over we will take appropriate steps.

In the meantime, THANK YOU to the good public servants -- the police, the firefighters, the medical people, and the other "disaster" people -- who are doing their best to help their fellow human beings in a time of crisis.

And THANK YOU for those who are staying calm, stepping up, and doing what has to be done in the midst of difficulty.
