folks, that is bad. Maybe not 888 mb yet, but bad.

3. What's the lowest recorded for any storm?
As I understand it from reading about the hurricane today, the lower the mb reading, the more intense the storm.

9. mbs are units of barometric pressure of the atmosphere
1000 mbs, I think, is considered "normal".

12. This thing is going to be a killer.
Cat V, 175+/mph sustained winds with gusts over 210mph,900 or less mb, and I've heard as much as 50" of rain locally... this thing is way beyond Andrew, and maybe even Camille.
