Golden Oldie: What Bush did with FEMA money last summer.....
Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 02:04 PM by Joanne98
Remember how George and Jeb CROOK stole FEMA money last year and used it to buy votes. The Bush family is making diasters a profitable family business...What will they do to New Orleans? Feel free to speculate...

Florida Follies: How Bush bought votes with FEMA money
Wednesday, March 23 2005 @ 09:00 AM Eastern Standard Time
Contributed by: dedalus Last summer's parade of hurricanes are long gone from Florida, but the story lives on. We all knew at the time that the disaster would give Bush a chance to play up his compassion credentials, but the real story, as always, comes when you follow the money.

So attention turned to the distribution of FEMA funds, and a few strange things turned up. Like why was $31 million sent to Miami-Dade when no hurricane conditions or significant damage was experienced there? So far, a handful of people have been indicted for fraud, but why was it so easy for them to get the cash?

Folks, here's the latest in a long line of smoking guns from this misadministration:

As the second hurricane in less than a month bore down on Florida last fall, a federal consultant predicted a "huge mess" that could reflect poorly on President Bush and suggested that his re-election staff be brought in to minimize any political liability, records show.

As the second hurricane in less than a month bore down on Florida last fall, a federal consultant predicted a "huge mess" that could reflect poorly on President Bush and suggested that his re-election staff be brought in to minimize any political liability, records show.

Two weeks later, a Florida official summarizing the hurricane response wrote that the Federal Emergency Management Agency was handing out housing assistance "to everyone who needs it without asking for much information of any kind."
