4. Alec Baldwin?
Cute, to boot, and, judging from his appearances on the political talkshow circuit, far smarter than the average celebrity!

:-)

6. Such a question is premature
It pre-supposes that Tuesday's recall will succeed.

Maybe it won't!

9. Question to CA people--or anyone who might know
Remember there was the threat by the mayor of LA or SF (I think one of those) who said if the repukes got in, he would start another recall. I heard that if it is started it would take until about now to come to fruitation but would then remove the repuke in time for the '04 elections. Anyway, what do you hear?? Is there still talk of doing that?? Do you think the person will carry through on it???

14. Where does Al Franken reside?
He's a Minnesota native, and I thought he currently lived in NYC, but if he's a California resident, let's go for it!

Besides, he went to HARVARD. He'll clean up the floor with Mr. Nazi Pants.

17. Never Going to Happen
I've heard alot about Recall 2 if Ah-nuld gets in the Governors Office. Sorry, but it IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!! Mark my words. If the Dems try this, we will hear "ad nauseum" that this is simply "sour grapes" and we should "just get over it".

Losing CA is HUGE! Not only does it help Bush in 2004, but it perpetuates the Democrats are whimpy losers mantra. I am so tired of Democrats "bringing knives to a gunfight". This is war, and although we tend to be thoughtful, peaceful people over here in Democrat land, it is time to fight "fire with fire". These people are not going to be satisfied until it is considered criminal behavior to be a Democrat and we are all locked away in GITMO.

Sorry to be a "nattering nabob of negativity", but they already have TX, they have FL, they are stealing CA and the chance they could win NY makes 2004 a LANDSLIDE, unless we do something now. How a state that is "supposedly" Democratic give 40% of the vote to "meathead" and 15% to wing-nut McClintock is beyond me. I'm not a mathematician, but that adds up to 55%!

I don't care how you try to spin it. Losing CA means 4 more years of Bush and Repuke rule in this country. There won't be anything left by the time that 4 years is up.

21. Nope
If Arnold wins he will be looking at a fiscal nightmare. The State really has a 25 billion hole in the budget. That's about 25% of the total. Cutting spending that much is impossible so raising taxes big time is comming. Arnold will go down as the bumbling 2nd rate actor who raised the taxes on Californians. He will be a one tern (or less) gov who will help to bury the repugs once and for all. Bob

19. I have an idea for you Californians
Instead of rushing out to do another recall, why not work through the state legislature and repeal the recall law? Then when you win back the governor's mansion in '06 you will be able to keep it for good.

Look, I know the knee jerk reaction is to run another recall on the 'Pugs, but there are a few drawbacks. First, the Dems would get hammered in the media about running another recall. You and I both know that, Rush would be all over it like the stink that he is, Faux would be spewing "partisan attack politics" 24/7. It very well could backfire after such a media hammering, the propelling the state even further into 'Pug hands.

Second, money, plain and simple. From what I hear this is costing the state 66 million, plus the fact that basically nothing is really getting done in state government right now. I mean do you really want to add that tab to the defecit you already have? On top of that, what goes on in California effects the rest of the US in a major way. You folks are the sixth largest economy in the world, the major drive in the US economy. To have that drive stalled out while endless recalls play out will ripple negatively throughout the US economy and society. We as a country cannot afford that.

I think the most constructive thing to do is if Ahhnuld gets in is to let him self destruct(you know he will) for the next three years, work to repeal the recall law(using the cost factor as a club), and then sweep back into power for a full term in '06. Otherwise if you play these tit for tat games all that will happen is that California will get mired in to an ever downward spiral, dragging the rest of the country with it.

20. Warren Beatty
he wants to run for some office anyway. Running an actor to replace Ah-nold would be so appropriate.
They can no longer say that Hollywood celebrities should keep their mouths shut and stay out of politics.

22. Excellent candidate
as for the bit about repealing recall. Nope, not until we use it. It didn't bother the pukes to spend the millions, there's very little they can say If Arnold gwts in with less votes than No on recall , We owe it to the voters to restore democracy to California. If arnold gets more ,it may be a problem.
