Food for thought...
Have you ever talked to someone who knows next to nothing about politics, but will be the first to say that Howard Dean lost all of his credibility with his scream speech? It drives you nuts right? Because then you have to go into detail about the actual situation and how it was distorted by the media and politicians so that peoiple who know nothing would say exactly that. I've decided that if cheering on a bunch of unpaid volunteers is enough to lose all of your credibility, then there must be some other offenses that REALLY take away your credibility. Of course people have made worse mistakes, yet they haven't been held to the high standard to which Dr. Dean was held. Here's my short list of some of those people and their offenses. I'll get it started and you can feel free to add to it.

1. George W. Bush: Lied to go to war and killed over 1800 American soldiers. Plain and simple. Let's just get that one out of the way.
Credibility= Zero
2. Dick Cheney: Has been caught in enough lies to be classified as pathological. Seriously!
3. Rumsfeld: Claimed to actually know the location of the nonexistant WMD's. Amazing, right? Zero credibility
4. Bill Frist: Gave a diagnosis over a computer that a brain dead blind woman responded well to visual stimuli. Did I mention that she was blind? Did I also mention that Bill is a doctor? Sigh.
5. Tom DeLay: Where do I start? Zero credibility.

1. But...
these brain-washed republicans won't acknowledge that it's lying when the "left-wing media" reports it. Besides, "Clinton lied too," for whatever that means.

2. I just never got that scream
mania. I thought it showed enthusiasm and spirit. Made me laugh but in a good kind of way. I'd like to meet the guy.

7. locker room pep talk
Me too I always thought that the dean scream when shown in context and in its entirety- of course a thing that seldom if ever happened on thr RWPM- was more along the lines of a coaches final exclamation before seending his 11 onto the field. But that's just me.

4. Its funny, but that scream actually made me take a closer look
at Dean in those earlier days, and I liked what I read about him. So for me it had the opposite effect, I thought he wasn't worth listening to before that.

5. The point of the thread was not Dean's scream speech...
it was more about what people consider to be a credibility destroyer. It just seems odd that his scream speech was viewed by the uninformed tv public as a career ender and he shouldn't be taken seriously, but a nutty "christian" orator who threatens to assassinate a world leader is still allowed to have a nationally televised tv show with a loyal legion of viewers

I also saw an interview where he was confused as to how aids was transmitted, he thought tears and sweat could transmit it.

Does anyone know his history of practicing as a doctor?

8. Rush Limbaugh...
Compares Cindy Sheehan to Bill Burkett and that her whole story is made up. He says this on the air with transcripts and tape to prove it. He goes on his show the nest day and says he didn't say those things. Amazing! again, zero credibilty you would assume. But he still has listeners
