"We are becoming increasingly concerned at the continuing high level of oil prices, which does not properly reflect the underlying fundamentals of the market," Sheik Ahmed said in his statement.

OPEC offical speaking about OPEC's concern about rising oil prices because there is no shortage of oil being pumped. And I heard P.Boon say as much that the stuff we are hearing about refining capacity is a crop of shit.

It says to me that the corporate oil is raking in the profits by gouging the consumer.

2. I do not trust the market to know what is happening
regarding production.

Further, China and India have been really growing in petroleum usage.

Don't live with the expectation that prices are going to go down below $2/gal again. I would very much doubt it.

In fact, I predict $4/gal gas by January.

4. America is now learning the truth about capitalism:
that it is the most murderously vicious and environmentally toxic economic system humanity ever devised -- a hideous truth our Depression-era parents and grandparents knew well: why do you suppose that during the 1930s, the Communist Party was the third largest political organization in the United States?. But unless we happen to be low-income elderly or disabled or newly impoverished by downsizing or outsourcing or just plain chronically poor, the malevolence of capitalism is a reality most of the rest of us haven't yet experienced firsthand -- not until now.

As to these oil prices -- which the oligarchy will undoubtedly push to new heights (using the excuse of the hurricane) -- that's just capitalism in action: the plutocrats getting ever more obscenely wealthy, the rest of us shoved ever closer to homelessness and starvation.

Get used to it, America: Bush has already reduced anyone who is not part of the oligarchy into ever-worsening servitude, and these skyrocketing fuel prices are just the beginning.
