Now that we have the LA Times poll that confirms Arnold at 40%, I think the Dems better look at the message that is coming through all this.

If the people of CA knew even a tenth of what we discuss here at DU regarding the vile purposes and assault on our democracy by the Bush administration, they would in no way, shape or form allow any republican to take the governorship. They would either vote to keep Davis or they would vote for Bustamante, a Green, or an Independent. Obviously, they are not afraid at all of the lovely republicans even when their state took a direct hit from this Mafia and it's henchmen, Enron which caused so much of the problems in the first place. In fact if you add McClintoch's (sp?) 12% to Arnolds 40% you get 52% of the voters in that state willing to give their government to the republicans.

It seems obvious that the people of CA must think that in general Bush is a decent, honest, good person. And while, like the rest of the country, they may be getting war weary and "price tag for war weary", they must have no clue what these criminals are about. With all of the assaults from a made-up war, to the transfer of wealth by the bucket fulls to the wealthy, to Halliburton, etc., they seem to have the same 'teflon' view of this administration as do so many others in this nation. And, if that's the view in a state that is liberal, then that is not good for this party. Somehow we still have yet to convey what a threat Bush and his crime organization are....and, I tell you, I don't know what else we can do to get that point across.

3. Hard Not To Be Upset

I am a Californian, and it is hard not to be upset thinking about what you say. It is becoming more and more obvious; there should be no excuse for people to now think Bush is a decent, honest, good person.

I am appalled by the idea that people would even think of letting somebody like Schwarzenegger become governor, or that somebody like him would in any way be an improvement over Gray Davis (whetever anybody might think of Gray Davis). I am hoping my fellow Californians will come to their senses and realize that whether they like Gray Davis or not, voting for the recall will almost certainly do more harm than good.

While voting No on the recall, it would probably be wise to vote for Bustamante just in case the recall passes.

Ahhhhnold is just "peachy" as far as they are concerned. They don't care that Arnold has been in a meeting with Enron's Ken Lay. Anybody is better than Davis. They seem to be afraid to speak out after the RW attacked Tim Robbins, Martin Sheen and Tim's significant other...what's her name? ....Susan Sarandan (sp?):) I NEVER see any of the Liberals speaking out now. 20. So I talked to a Republican acquaintance who got polled.

First they asked to speak to any Republican in the household. When this person said she was a Republican, they then asked her if she was voting for or against the recall. Then they asked her who she was going to vote for on the second part. So if they are only polling Republicans, no wonder Arnold is polling high.
